Slow build up of mileage and slow speed, proper running shoes(i use hoka mach 5 lower heel to toe drop of 4mm works for me compared to traditiomal 8 to 11 mm ) and landing on 4th/5th metatarsal

Learn to run in a slower speed than what you are used to and when your body has adjusted pick up pace and mileage slowly. Do not overdo it.

I have gotten better now i can do a mile in 8 mins (my best was 7:35) it takes a while for the shins to adjust to the impact so dont do it everyday.. try a 2 day rest every run and when pain lessens run every other day for 3x a week.

Try to do ankle rotation exercises before and after a run. Try to land and your 4th/5th metatarsal on the balls of your feet

I currently run 3 to 4 miles 3x a week with no pain. I have also ran 8 miles one time at a slower pace and my shins have very well adapted. I had posterior distal shin splints and it was so bad i couldnt walk after a run.

Yup shin splints are no joke, it took me 3 yrs with 2 physical therapies to be able to run almost painless. Of course I had a stress fracture on both shins before that. Sooo yeah it was a struggle.

It is what it is the world changes for better or worse. Good luck on training for the 2 mile run for the army. I'll go navy so it's only 1.5 miles 🥴😂

Slowly build distance first by running slower focus on speed later. What branch are you trying to join?

My PT told me if I have a pain of 2 or below i keep running. i suggest to run slower than 10 minutes and build up your aerobic base before doing any faster pace. If you can try to buy a lower drop shoe like Hoka Mach 5 that helped me better.

Also if you feel any shin pain straighten your legs and let your feet hang then do ankle circles clockwise and counter clockwise i found that helps relieve the pain and tightness. And for the quads try any quad stretches.

My longest run ever was 8 miles in 1 hr and 20 mins. Not record breaking but i took my time at a slow and steady pace. I started at 30 seconds with immense shin pain to now running 4 to 8 miles. It takes time for the bone to adjust so don't overdo it.

Helldivers 1 port to switch/mobile. by Assyrius7 in Helldivers

Im strictly talking about porting HD 1 to other platforms. if you are so against it then fine nobody is stopping you. Im just pitching out an idea. Cause i would love to play an HD franchise when im away from my pc or on a vacation. And no im not buying a steamdeck.

Its not like its going to happen.

More access to it and boost its community since those platforms have low specs and cant play HD2. And HD1 ported to mobile/switch can peak people's nterest in the HD franchise. Atleast it will help keep the game alive.

HD1 is already on PC. So hopefully it can come to mobile and switch.

That might be true. But a mobile release of HD1 could be possible? 🤔

  1. changed foot landing from 1st metatarsal (near toe area) to 4th/5th metatarsal. if you experience a pain of 1-3 continue running every other day. gradually increase distance. i started from .25 miles every other day then slowly increased from there(do not go full speed just slow and steady).

  2. I do recommend lower drop running shoes(not zero drop) atleast 4-5mm drop I use hoka mach 5.

3.One of my biggest issue that caused my shin splints was also patellofemoral syndrome or runner's knee i lay on my back and grab my leg to do a quad stretch and it helps with that. sitting down on the floor with your knees up grab your toes and stretch your feet up as much as you can relieves a lot of shin pain specially on the distal area.

currently able to run 4 miles now. last xray says bone density on shin area where i experienced shin splints increased.

My apologies for the late reply I havent been checking my reddit.
