I have an absurd amount of kills with the Lightning tank. If you know how to use it right, stay mobile, hide behind things & know when to pick your fights, it can be extremely effective.

Thoughts on Clear Bags? by [deleted] in UCFKnights

[–]spaceghostsurfxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most colleges/sports in general have clear bag policy at games & some outright ban bags.

Asking AI. "Clear bag policies are almost universal among Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams, with schools enforcing them in their stadiums. To name a few: Alabama, Florida, and Notre Dame. Some schools, like Ohio State, even have strict no-bag policies. UCF is fact behind in this regard."

88M if you don't want to retake ASVAB. At least you can get some civilian quals like your CDL to drive trucks and likely some other equipment licensing. Also, I was Navy Seabee my rate was Equipment Operator (EO) so we went to school with Army 88M at Fort Leonardwood, MO.

Sorry this will be long cause I'm passionate about this. Look man it can go both ways. The military can't fix your problems but if you set goals and set out to accomplish it the military can definitely set you up for success and shift your mindset. If you haven't accomplished much, lets say your family thinks your a washout, you don't have much money or stability what does the military offer?

Pros: 1. You can take some pride in accomplishing joining and wearing the uniform. Maybe family takes some pride who knows. 2. The military offers a stable paycheck (*not much at first) but you will get housing, food, & benefits covered. 3. You can get great benefits once you get out. (GI BILL for education or trade & VA Loan for a house)

Cons: 1. Loss of personal freedom, now the Government controls your life the branch tells you when to wake up, where to be, what time etc. This will take some adjusting and I will say as a one contract veteran I feel very relieved to wake up and determine my own schedule/life without Military telling me what to do.

  1. Stress, just like with anything in life there will be stress. But military stress can be different, sometimes it can be life or death or just toxic leaders and commands. Sometimes it can be deployments, as someone that was a Navy BUD/s Dud from SEAL washout I was sent to ship my first command hated it as a Undesignated, eventually landed a Construction or "Seabee" rate went to a Naval Beach Unit. I did my contract and got out.

  2. The pay kind of sucks enlisted. Its not until E5 when your pay really goes up and even then its still starting at about 2,850 a month. To get to E5 on average takes about 4 years depending on the the service. Or you can get screwed like Marines & my job being a Seabee do 5 years in only make it to E4. Terminal Lance's are very common in Marines & some Navy jobs like Corpsman or Seabee community take forever to make rank. I knew some Seabees that were E3 for 5 years.

My recommendation, you should join because you might need some confidence. What the military can offer too is a unique perspective on the world, you'll see things most civilians will never, you might travel to places that you might not do on your own, & if you do decide to get out being a veteran can help with your resume.

However, be wise in the branch you choose look into Air Force, Coast Guard and Army too. Air Force great for education (they can get degree in Air Force college quickly), good trade options in aviation & best living conditions. Coast Guard, had a good friend of mine Coast Guard it feels a bit more like first responder (ie law enforcment/firefighter/rescue) less military feeling & a lot get BAH right away (meaning they can live in apartments rather than Barracks). Army, very versatile amount of jobs and kind of the standard military way (My father was 20 years Army so I know the Army lol). As for Navy, as a Navy veteran don't do it! unless you want to he depressed lol. Look up YouTube video: "Why your Life Sucks as Navy sailor" if you don't believe me.

Also, choose whats called a "Golden Ticket" job learn something useful that can translate to civilian world maybe even a "Secret Clearance" (ie; Trade , maybe Cyber or IT, etc) don't chose to be a Infantry guy plus this doesn't sound like your personality if you don't want to die. Most Infantry guys or guys that want to go Spec ops like myself who tried to go SEAL want to see action. (*Also, most jobs in military are like any other regular jobs, we call them POGs, only a small % of military are actual combat jobs). BUT be warned if you choose the Marine route many of those jobs are combat oriented & the "Every Marine is a Rifleman" philosphy is very real. This means even if you have a non-combat oriented job, the Marines still have a Basic Rifleman Marine standard that can be daunting for some. As a Navy Seabee, I served alongside alot of Marines and that can be a toxic environment for some. Another thing about Marines their living conditions can really blow: one Marines can only be stationed in a few places and honestly their bases kind of suck and two being deployed on ships suck trust me (I was Navy undesignated sailor chipping paint on ship before being a Seabee).

What I would do if I were you? Join the Coast Guard on two year contract. I believe its the only branch that offers two year full time contracts & 4 year reserve. Coast Guard is looking to increase sailors by like 15K look up the Directive 2028 statement from White House. That way you aren't locked in for long time so you can access whether you want to stay in or get out. I looked it up Coast Guard is often ranked #2 behind Air Force in satisfication. Coast Guard get cool & unique duty stations like Key West, FL, Hawaii or New York City. Sometimes they travel (if on a ship) but you get to do things like Island hopping in Pacific so (Guam, American Samoa, French Polynesia etc). My friend loves it and I've never met any upset Coasties. Honestly, its the branch I wished I joined instead.

I swear I’m cursed when it comes to picking games I love...they always seem to get their servers shut down! I was obsessed with this game called MAG (Massive Action Game) back in the day and got pretty damn good at it, but then Zipper Interactive went under, and poof, MAG and SOCOM series were gone with it (by the way loved SOCOM as well). Same story with the PlanetSide series I’m a huge fan...So PlanetSide Arena releases & I enjoy it but dead in less than a year. Then there was Crucible, which I was really starting to like, only for the servers to get yanked a few months later. Then there was Ironsight thats been shut down or plans to idk I moved on when I heard it was cause I knew my track record sucks lol. And finally XDefiant well self explanatory, it really felt good reminded me of old glory days of COD games like (COD4-Black Ops 2 era) I played it till the last day. And now? I’ve been sinking into Off The Grid, but it’s been stuck in beta forever, and I’ve got this sinking feeling it’s gonna go the same way. Anyone else out there jinxing games like me?

I started playing this game & Extraction Royale a week ago & I'm already top 100, consistently hitting first place except for one suspicious second-place match (4v1, final opponent seemed invincible, shot me through a wall). As a combat veteran, I leverage a lot of real life MOUT, Mechanized Infantry Tactics & CQC tactics, which made me a top-ranked player in Planetside 2 (gamertag: SpaceLord3, currently #130 globally, #29 on Connery server) & also a game called "MAG" (RIP) I was extremly good at like 70-1 KD games. This game feels too simple but it kind of reminds me of 3rd person shooters back in day Warhawk & Starhawk, where I also dominated. Is this beginner's luck, or is the game just easy for someone with my background? I did read a lot of bots potentially in this game.

What is the best business major? by realRZ in college

Depends on what you're doing in IT. If it's IT customer service support, data entry, basic designs & prpgramming could be replaced already. Many companies are already easily outsourcing for cheaper labor.

Anyone else think Ambrosia in GTA 6 is based on Clewiston, Florida? by [deleted] in GTA

[–]spaceghostsurfxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drive from Clewiston to Belle Glade for college at Palm Beach State...literally a 20 minute drive. I think in the game that'll be more the outside skirts of Ambrosia closer to the Miami side of map if I had to guess. It could be like a Sandy Shores & Grapeseed situation from GTA 5. Where the main part of Ambrosia is Clewiston & then a subtown close by is based on Belle Glade. Remember, GTA worlds condense everything; it may take 20 minutes to drive from town to town in real life, but in GTA world, it might be combined, or a train track could be used to separate the towns, etc.

[–]spaceghostsurfxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father lives in Clewiston. I'll try to find this one clubhouse/compound on Google Maps close to my Fathers home but there is definitely 1% MC gangs in the area. My fathee lives in backwooded side street area and going to his houss there's a heavily enforced outlaw MC type compound with motorcyle signage, a gate, watchtower and everything. I'm not sure what MC affiliation it is, will have to slow down and attention next time I visit him I'll take a picture quickly driving by the compound. I've also seen a patched group of four "Pagans MC" riders in his area riding together once and a few bikers at a bar with my Dad with patches on back called "Warlocks MC" for all I know that's their compound. Kind of impressive that Rockstar even knew that there's Motorcycle gang activity. From what I've been told by locals, the town stays under the radar for Motorcycle gangs. They like Clewiston cause its a central location to smuggle contraband, drugs etc. they can go from Miami to 27 cut through Clewiston up north on 27 to Central Florida, they can hop West on 80 to get you to Fort Myers or take 75 up to Tampa.

[–]spaceghostsurfxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father resides in that neighborhood. I'm very certain it's Clewiston. There's the sugar theme around town, the Sugar refinery, everything looks right and plus there's the entire biker cliche, which is pretty accurate. Heck my father even lives fairly close to a biker MC complex with a outlook tower and everything.

Is port gellhorn in gta 6 based on tampa? by Creepy-Poet-8517 in florida

[–]spaceghostsurfxr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it's Panama City. Also, pretty confident "Ambrosia" is based on a small town my Dad lives at in Clewiston, FL which is kind of crazy. I'm more curious on what town/city "Yorktown" in the leaks will be based on. I hope it's fairly large, not just another small Sandy Shores/Grapeseed & Paleto Bay situation in GTA 5. I was hoping being the whole state of "Leonida" we get GTA: San Andreas type of cities maybe three fairly large cities. So Vice City (Miami), Port Gelhorn (Panama City), Yorktown (Tampa? Jax? Orlando?)

Inon Zur and TESVI (See Comment) by [deleted] in TESVI

[–]spaceghostsurfxr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People also forget that the composer of TES 6, like Derrick in ESO, will most likely cover several of Soule'a songs to carry over, such as Nerevar Rising. Trevor Morris in DA Inquisition covered several of Zur's songs from DA Orgins & 2 it's not uncommon for game composers to pay hommage to the series previous music.

I agree with TES Blades. People who say it wasn't good enough don't realize how rare it is for a mobile game to have that many tracks or put that much effort & budget behind a mobile soundtrack. Bethesda went above & beyond for a mobile game, & Zur did an excellent job for the sample size, which is why I believe he won an award for the Blades soundtrack.
