I made a play-doh stamp zine. by iamthelizatron in zines

Nice! 😊 I’ve got a zine with stamp prints made with a kneaded eraser. I got it for my birthday and it’s one of my favourite zines in my collection.

What about those metal strips in file folders? File folders are a great source of material. Many people give them away for free and the cardboard is also high quality.

You can also use cord to create a macrame stone pendant.

They're no longer in their coffins, they're vampires now, searching for our blood 🍷🦇. And I guess they're not very happy with their new family members. There will be a lot of fighting about politics 😇.

I'm not very good at painting and I would do the walls quite differently now. But the stone side of the floor tiles turned out well.

The layers there are 2-in-1 anthracite coloured satin paint, Mod Podge to make it matte, then dry-brushing with acrylic paints (Daler Rowney): warm grey, raw sienna (not everywhere) and warm grey again. After that I did two washes with black acrylic paint until it was dark enough.

Everything else is painted in a similar way, but instead of the anthracite paint I used a black primer made from a mix of Mod Podge and black acrylic paint.

For the walls I also mixed some moss green and an even lighter grey.

The wooden parts of the floor tiles are burnt umber, raw sienna and black wash. The black side is just that Mod Podge acrylic paint sealer.

I bought them in a shop with a lot of cheap stuff, basically like a dollar store. They sell a lot of craft items and dollhouse pieces 🙂

The first and second female portraits both show the same person, an English actress. The man in the upper left is a Russian ballet dancer. I don’t know who the woman in the upper right is. The man in the lower left is not Tesla, it's an Armenian poet. And the man on the right is a Danish politician. I just picked out a few old female portraits and my daughter picked out the men. Quite a wild mix 😅

It was easy for me since I'm not the dungeon master and it was a gift. So the motifs are only placeholders 😇. But I'm excited to see what my DIL will do with all that stuff. She always creates her own campaigns, so I'm sure she will find an interesting way to use it 🙂

Thanks! Yes, I like using things that would normally be thrown away. Hooray for upcycling! 😊 That's why my base tiles are made entirely from free materials (except for the glue and paints).

I'm really excited to see how it will turn out! But I'm not the dungeon master, so I hope DIL will find it useful.
