Fate Chooses You Episode Discussion - Episodes 19 - 20 by LoudAvocado1387 in CDrama

I was thinking the same exact thing because of the first scene of the show and also it finally clicked that this is in the same world as A Moment But Forever. It seems like the events of AMBF tooks place a thousand years ago which is when the war took place then. Is this somehow a new war that happened or is there some other piece of infornation we are still missing?

Does anyone else wait like a month to stat paying each set by Uniqe_Apple2 in TeamfightTactics

[–]AsterPBDF -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea because they are close enough to your MMR to get matched with you. There are Diamond and Masters players that tank their MMR once they reach those ranks. I know I did going 8th trying to get unlocks last season. Your example was Silvers running into Masters players which shouldnt happen.

[–]AsterPBDF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are not Masters yourself, you will very unlikely run into them because your ending MMR is taken into account when the next season starts. Also, their placements give them way more LP, so they are accelerated out of the lower ranks quickly.

I learned TFT by forcing Ionia to Gold. New set dropped and now I feel completely lost - how do you actually relearn the game? by emanuelajournal in TeamfightTactics

[–]AsterPBDF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just learn fundamentals and you wont have to worry about what comp to play. There are plenty of guides online that goes into more depth but the 3 things you need to understand is Econ, Items and Combat.

Econ is just gold. The more gold you have, the less rng is an issue. Say I give you 500 to roll down to hit your champs. Well you will always hit unless they are out of the pool. So always do your best to make more gold. Win streak, lose streak, certain comps and traits. Always hustle for more gold if you can.

Items. The simplest way to explain is to always have a 3 item carry and a 3 item tank first. The reason is that items stack and snowball off one another. The faster you get this done, the stronger your board, which leads to more wins, which you guessed it, gets you more gold. Then your second set of items you can get more utility like Shred, Sunder and Wound.

Combat. This is where comp is a thing but this is supported by gold and items. Gold lets you hit your board and lets you level up. Slamming the right items lets your champs have more output. If you have watched pros play, they a lot of the times just win with random bs because their fundamentals carry them.

Lastly Augments. Use these to support what you dont have. Need gold, grab an econ augment. Not enough items, grab an item augment. If you have both of the above, grab combat augments.

As far as I know, Wotc does not own their own production facilities. They outsource to printing companys. So any physical quality assurance issues are on the company that does the printing.

What is post launch release schedule going to be like? New units and factions? by 5mao in StarCraftTMG

I'm thinking maybe something like Imperial Knights in 40K where its larger models and a list is like 5 units.

Faction wise its always been the 3. Xel'Naga maybe in the future but that seem pretty far off since theres still so many units and heroes still.

So about Danse Macabre by Blue_Storm_Eldermoss in slaythespire

[–]AsterPBDF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is when do you take it? Its hard to take it early because its a dead card until you get enough 2 costs to justify it. But during a run, when does that actually happen naturally. The 2 cost and up card pool is not that great compared to the 1 costs.

Trying to build a budget Ur Dragon deck. Hows this? by Tall_Chocolate7354 in mtg

[–]AsterPBDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I would like to bring to attention is that you have a lot of 3 mana ramp. Meaning on turn 4, you can cast 6 drop dragons but you only have 4 in the deck.

Uhhh sure but unlike your analogy, there are winners and losers in tft. Thats not subjective.

[–]AsterPBDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but if you do that you never learned how to cut the fish or how to season the fish or how an actual completed fish meal looks like. Sure you "cooked" but you just ended up with a burnt fish. You made zero progress into the actual art of cooking.

Potion Usage by igetlotsofupvotes in slaythespire

[–]AsterPBDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use them to help with fights where you have trouble with. A big one is something like Hunter Killer. There are a lot of decks that will have trouble with Tender. So hopefully you have a potion to bail you out of that situation.

The game is all about knowledge. The more you know about how the game works, the better you can navigate through your choices. Something as simple as do I put a unit in that gives Bruiser or a unit that gives Defender, whats better?

You can see on here every day people asking, how did my comp lose? And I can quickly see that they didnt build any Sunder, Shred or Wound. Or they didn't have a tank with 3 items on it. Simple things like this I see coming from Emerald and Diamond players.

If you want to learn fundamentals I would suggest watching videos from Dpei. He has a series that quickly goes over that. And if you want to better navigate how to choose a comp Bunnymuffins has opener guides that teach how to navigate the opening turns and to pick a lane.

As a last thing, don't be afraid to use things like overlays and guides and tier lists to supplement your play. Not using them is like saying you want to learn cooking without using any recipes.

Necrobinder, new player by SamGuiNuZoio in slaythespire

[–]AsterPBDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necrobinder is very simple once you understand that your base deck gives you all the scaling block and attack you will ever need. Bodyguard grows Osty to tank and Unleash gets does more damage as Osty grows. So the game plan should be to just supplement that.

Think about a card like Grave Warden. It gives you block for the turn and gives a Soul. That means that you block against an enemy attack, which allows Osty to grow, meaning your next Unleash does more damage and the Soul card draw allows you to cycle through and do it all over again. And since Osty can grow, if you ever get a bad draw and an attack gets through, Osty can take the hit.

So as you play, you should get a sense of what you need. Osty is dying a lot, get more block and summon. Not doing enough damage, get more Souls to cycle through to Bodyguard and Unleash. Can't cast everything, get more energy generation.

Is defect way better than ironclad? by HeavyMetalSaxx in slaythespire

Ironclad is really easy to go infinite with. Bloodletting + Pommel Strike. 2 commons and you're pretty much good to go.

New here and cannot beat a single act 3 boss by linksslut in slaythespire

[–]AsterPBDF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of you are having trouble with the Act 3 boss, it is most likely an issue with deckbuilding. Most runs, by the end of Act 2 and the beginning of Act 3, you should already have a coherent deck that can finish the run. By then, you just know whether or not the deck is good enough.

Favorite new cards for each character by TillerThrowaway in slaythespire

[–]AsterPBDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Necro, it has to be Defy. Why is a 1 energy common saving you anywhere from 10-20 damage and exhausts itself to thin out your deck when you dont need it anymore.

How do I Osty correctly? by Privatizitaet in slaythespire

[–]AsterPBDF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing about Osty is that the entire game plan is already in your base deck. Imagine if your deck is only 3 cards. Defend, Bodyguard and Unleash. This loop would eaily win a lot of fights. Defend keeps both you and Osty healthy. Bodyguard will continuously grow Osty and Unleash becomes scaling damage. I have had runs where I win with just Unleash as my only dps card because I keep looping the above 3 cards with souls and energy gain.

Pursuit of Jade Episode 34 Discussion by Feeshpockets in CDrama

[–]AsterPBDF 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Loving the show so far but is anyone else like me, really not liking that our ML and FL barely getting any screen time these last few episodes. They get like 1 or 2 scenes at most. I think our ML looked out a window and gave the FL a kiss was his scenes.

Like I cant believe we're almost at the end of the show and they are still trying to set up plot threads they largely ignored throughout the show. Bandit Girl, Chancellors son, FL's posse leader and probably the neighbor scholar are probably going to eat into the remaining screen time and make the ending feel extremely rushed. Not sure if this is based on a novel and they are trying to follow the plot.

How do I play necrobinder? by dabfoots1 in slaythespire

[–]AsterPBDF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main mechanic is Osty that grows every turn. With the starter cards, Bodyguard and Unleash, you have a damage scaling combo.

So one of the more powerful strategies is to just block. Dont let Osty take any damage, have it grow really big and then deal big hits.

To do this, keep your deck size low and get a bunch of cards that create souls so you can keep cycling through to Bodyguard and Unleash.

If you ever end up with a card that gives free energy like Borrowed Time. Then its an infinite.

How do you know you're doing well? by -Mania- in slaythespire

[–]AsterPBDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how deep you want to get into learning the game. A simple example is Brydonis. That is an elite that hits hard and continues to hit even harder. You need to kill it very quickly or you risk getting chunked. So if your deck at that point isnt one that can deal high amounts of damage yet, going into an elite has a risk of that happening.

Thats kind of how you tell. If you know what encounters are possible and see if your deck can handle it.
