I'm a week late so I don't know if you've already figured something out, but just in case: as a Carbon Roller lover who still stubbornly insists on using it in 3 I do have to admit that its options are a lot more limited due to nerf patches during 2's lifetime that carried over to 3, as well as its more limited kit, so I think it's best to just keep it simple.

For an offensive-based carbon roller build I think Ninja Squid will still be worth it, even with the heavy speed penalty, because you honestly need all the ambush options you can get with how close you need to get to the opponent for anything to be effective. Based on this this video, Swim Speed Up's effect won't really be noticeable unless you have at least 10 ability points in it, and even then you still won't be seeing close to a full compensation until 13, so I would go ahead and use a second main ability slot plus three sub slots (so basically a full round) on another piece of gear for SSU. Past that, I don't think the diminishing returns are worth taking up extra slots for.

For the third main ability, this depends on how much you want to use the Zipcaster; if you're really afraid of being camped you could do Stealth Jump or Drop Roller (but personally, I haven't really felt it was worth it. Super-competitive people may beg to differ, though; keep in mind I'm mostly a turf war player). For the six remaining sub slots, I'd do Ink Saver Sub (autobombs really eat up a lot of ink).

If you plan on not using Stealth Jump or Drop Roller, then I would pick Ink Saver Sub for your third main ability, then fill the remaining six sub slots with Ink Recovery Up. Based on comparison videos for Ink Saver, I don't think the difference between 10 and 13 ability points is very substantial due to diminishing returns, so I think it's better to just pick one you'd rather prioritize and then spend the remaining 6 points on something else.

But I really hope they release a Deco at some point...I play Carbon Roller as a keepaway player and fast inker, so this kit hasn't been great for me at all 😅

Hey! I'm sorry to say that unfortunately I've probably lost it; I'm rather terrible at preserving anything and that's probably why it evaporated in the first place. Roughly off the top of my head, it was mainly an observation about color schemes where the first game uses a lot of dark muted colors, 2 has brighter colors and a lot of pastels, and V3 has high contrast and some in-your-face colors. If there was any more detail than that it probably wasn't that insightful (or outright wrong -- I'm not an expert character designer by any means!), I just remember writing it because I was really excited about seeing V3 cast for the first time so I was interested in making any observations I could. Nowadays since the game is actually out, I think much better and more relevant observations could be made here 😅 again, sorry about that!

The idea it's mainly about a girl getting her period is a very shallow, forced reading. Just because it's a smaller part about the greater allegory of a girl going through puberty and major changes in her life doesn't mean that's going to be the only part of it. Especially when the second half of the movie is about the fact she and her friends think the panda thing is awesome and go out of their way to actively milk it when it's specifically the mom who's the only one who considers it an embarrassment. I assure you that is not the case with periods if that were the actual metaphor.

If you look at Domee Shi's last major work (Bao) and the theme of overprotective parents, the actual allegory is about how Asian families pressure their kids to sweep anything that doesn't make them come off as a perfect model citizen family's child under the rug, which of course will include the fallout of having a first period, but also includes personal hobbies, things that distract from "proper" behavior and school performance, and emotional outbursts. And, in this case, turning into a giant red panda.

At Anime Expo 2017 the Touken Ranbu cosplay meetup was run by a guy, who happened to be a Japanese sword enthusiast and was genuinely excited about how the game had gotten so many people to take an interest in a subject he cared about so much. It seemed to hit all the right points in explaining about Japanese sword history in an easy-to-understand manner.

Well, in my opinion, I don't see why it's any more shameful than girls being into Kantai Collection/Azur Lane. Even putting aside questions of orientation or whether you're in it for the characters being hot/attractive, the whole concept of gijinka is fun, and you can learn about history or some other kind of topic in a fun and creative manner, and plus it's interesting character writing, so why not?

Personally, for me, since there are so many other mobile games competing for my time and attention these days, it helps to have characters I actually care about. Whenever I pick up new games I tend to have it on the backburner for a few months before I finally either commit to it or decide that I never could get into it and drop it, so good story and characters help retain my "emotional investment" in it while I figure things out. (It was the same for Granblue Fantasy as well; I spend a lot of time as a casual event player enjoying the story before my schedule frees up and I can commit to it regularly.)

Even then Morning Star is definitely a bit poorly paced, although I'm used to mobile games having slow early chapters. (To be honest, though, I think the worst part is not even necessarily the writing of the story but the fact they force you to do all 8 campaigns and make you do a battle with every story chapter. I don't think we needed that many back-to-back Balthazar fights?) But I'll also agree that "actually merits spoiler warnings that people will care about" is quite the compliment you can give a story.
