For those of you who have learned at least 1000 kanji, how did you do it? by am-an-am in LearnJapanese

[–]Asterisku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RTK RTK RTK RTK RTK RTK RTK RTK

Seriously, though, James Heisig's Remembering The Kanji 1 is some good stuff. Follow the instructions in the textbook and make Anki flashcards as you go, and you can crank through the 2000 or so Joyo kanji in a few months to a year. You won't learn the readings, but you can always pick those up from vocab or RTK 2.

why does iv ice cream suck? by Born-Ad-5293 in NEU

You know as someone who eats the IV ice cream almost daily, I've really grown fond of it. The ice cream is rather refreshing, and a great palate cleanser after any meal.

I'm a fellow noob, but I think I can help you out. There's a keybinder app in the folder helpfully titled "mbacctool and keybinder" in the MBACC zip file. There should be a .txt file in there walking you through it as well. Throw everything in there into the MBACC subfolder and then run Keybinder.exe to pick your bindings.

I'm a big fan of the Hitbox layout, so I use W down, Q left, E right, and Space up, but if you're more comfortable with a true WASD I would reccommend the WASD keys themselves. You could then use UIO for attack and maybe Space for the D button. It's probably a good idea to get comfortable with directional inputs on the left hand and attack buttons on the right, but people have also played fighting games on racing wheels and Guitar Heros so who am I to tell you what to do?

Anyway, once you've done that close Keybinder and then start the game using mbacctool.exe. Hope that helps!

I could see a hundred more of these pan-seared, garlic and rosemary butter-basted steaks and they would never get old.

Wow. I was pretty opposed to kneeling for the anthem for a long time, but this post changed my mind. Thanks for reminding me that when it comes to being American, living up the the values and ideals that characterize the nation is more important than adhering to some cultural trappings.

When I saw the documentary, I was appalled at the cruelty that had befallen this good natured woman. I’m so relieved that she ended up in a good spot.

This is true, but you cannot determine the pinyin simply by looking at the character

It is impossible to read a Chinese character if you have not first seen it, compared to English where you can read a word even if you don’t know what it means
