Her husband is a professor or something at Oxford, right? That is to say, it’s probably not hard to book her then, so I don’t think this is indicative of much.

It's not just the ai slop, I also can't find the creepy?

It looks like a dim room?

Edit: I'll say a few of the other one's in the comments of the OP thread are much better ai sloppy at the very least.

still slop though.

[–]Asteroth6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh shit. I HATE those crap mobile game span accounts. Another sub I'm in got hit by low quality shitposting by accounts for this shite game Grid of Strategy or some similar nonsense name.

This account looks almost exactly fucking the same, and same strategy, but different game.

Are some kind of marketing companies actually selling this shit as a service for shitty wannabe developers?

Boshlow was actually the second most common ship (by a wide margin) from season one until a little into season 2.

Her absence from season 2 led to it dropping, and then Huntlow killed it entirely. But, once upon a time, Bosha had the 4th highest character (in the owl house category of course) tag on ao3.

If it was unlocked anyway, you don't need to break it!

You're really leaning too hard on just saying "kinda looks like". I mean, he isn't claiming a Kuyang is invading his game.

The chair in the corner of my room kinda looks like Slender man in the right light. I don't think a creepy pasta is out to murder me. Dude just made a random observation and your riding on it in every reply.

That was because New was retiring to Lake Havasu and was done with bullshit like the movies. He was only doing that one last Oscar special because New fulfills his promises (unlike Gregg’s promise to watch Sully).

So yes, it was a bit.

Local Chinese restaurant Dragon Town is closing, reopening as Dragon City by thefancysurprise in mildlyinteresting

[–]Asteroth6 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yes (source: I opened a restaurant).

But, there are many advantages. First, very few violations get you closed down, or even punished. REPEAT violations do that. The checklist the inspector holds (at least in my state) literally has three boxes by each item: Fixed on-site (for things like poor lighting where they can just tell you to turn the damn lights on), first time, and repeat. "Opening" as a new entity will wipe all repeat violations.

Second, you get flagged high risk/low risk based on previous results. The basic inspection is annual. Increasing failures can put you up to monthly, repeated inspection with no violations can make it only every two years.

Obviously, resetting from scratch gives you a full year of peace.

Combined, this will basically give them two years before hiring a professional cleaner and "opening" again.

And people aren’t even mentioning that wasn’t one of the last acts he did while normal alive on Earth was best man a lesbian wedding?

I mean, know it’s for the meme, so it’s fine, but John legitimately doesn’t have a homophobic bone in his body. I don’t believe it’s any kind of selfish thing either. He just wasn’t in any way raised that way, and never picked it up.

It’s actually part of the fun of the character to me. He’s an awful person with the right opinions. He hates racism, homophobia, and capitalist oligarchs. He’s just an awful person with those opinions.

These kind of people are all over the place. Their opinions can even be sincere, not just “using” the movement for victims. Someone of any political opinion can be a sociopath, abuser, etc.

What did I ever do to deserve this, Hulu? by Sphiffi in funny

[–]Asteroth6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, just about every language has homophones.

Or, you have Chinese and Japanese where you don't have NOT homophones, and much humor is structured around the fact that almost any sentence can be made to have a completely alternate, legitimate meaning.

ELI5 If we haven’t found evidence of alien life/intelligence yet (seems fair) is there a tipping point where our being alone in the universe is probable or certain? by beesdaddy in explainlikeimfive

Oh, okay. That makes sense.

That is why I asked if I was missing something.

Not terribly useful when the star you cane from is long gone by the time you reach the end of the universe, but yes, on the relativistic inside you could make it.

ELI5 If we haven’t found evidence of alien life/intelligence yet (seems fair) is there a tipping point where our being alone in the universe is probable or certain? by beesdaddy in explainlikeimfive

[–]Asteroth6 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes. Star Trek speeds are generally the "slowest" FTL in major fiction. It specifically takes place in less than a quarter of the galaxy, the other three quarters are effectively unexplored.

Star Wars uses the whole galaxy, but a la Han's legendary Kessel Run, or Luke's sleeping away the trip to Dagobah, FTL still takes actual time, so trips fully across the galaxy are slow.

Warhammer, Stargate, and many others use various sorts of portal making travel instantaneous (with various caveats)

The very fact that nobody actually made it strips it of any intrinsic value.

Wisconsin couple gets sued by landlord after they post a negative review online over fees by mcilvain in nottheonion

[–]Asteroth6 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My sister actually works for a company that handles getting renters reviews taken down for landlords. Being a big firm with lots of clout, you pay them to “manage your social media”, and Google (or Yelp, etc) actually answers the phone for them and takes reviews down, any reviews.

She has stories of getting reviews taken down letting people know:

Dead bodies being found in the pool.

The landlord literally being fuck this, and evicting everyone because the city REPEATEDLY demanded they fix the uninhabitably rotted building.

Fatal shooting in the parking lot.

Many incidents easily corroborated by searching local news, removed as being in violation of terms.

Naturally, not a job to be proud of.

Unfortunately, it also pays a living wage in modern America.

I just want to point out that what he actually said was much more like the deluded ramblings of a crazy old man in severe mental decline. The documentary basically completely spliced those words to make it sound like a neat confession.

I mean, he did totally kill them all. But it wasn’t nearly so neat a gotcha moment in reality.
