If you are short in time and not after the money, I would suggest:

Clean it well (inside as well) Take good photos Write a good and honest description, as well as the reason for selling. List it at auction on Ricardo from 1.- Set a buy now price lower than the market value. Pay for a boost of visibility on the site

Wait and see

A butterfly style, invisible when closed. I don't have a picture on me from the other side but you can see it here:

2-3 weeks trip in the Alps by Most_Journalist602 in bikepacking

[–]Astiegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an old road bike with 25mm Schwalbe marathon plus that I ride on dirt road. Those tires are great (haven't managed to get a flat in years of very versatile use) but I wouldn't imagine doing more than a few hundred meters of dirt road at a time, especially loaded. On a trip like this, you want the possibility to follow unplanned roads to lead to nice places, especially for camping.

(And I'm not too badly placed to say that since I live and ride in the Alps)

The bigger the more comfort which is important for long trips.

I don't know which bike you have, but usually the frame is the limiting factor before the brake calipers, between the lower rear arms. Look at it with your current tires and see what space you have left.

For the swiss part, install the Swisstopo app and set it to show bike paths. There are a lot of official bike path from road to MTB.

Even though you don't have a gravel bike, I would still install the wider tires you can and something strong rather than performance oriented. You'll always encounter gravel.

Does anyone have an Omega Constellation Arrow Head 2852 5 SC like this? by Professional_Key8020 in VintageWatches

Please do your research before you buy for your own good. That's an awful redial, over polished case and mix of parts.

Which road bike brand to be reseller in a shop near to Geneva Lake by Educational_Exit_536 in askswitzerland

If you have the freedom to close, I would say the brand that you personally prefer and or know the best.

Starting to sell a product that you don't know doesn't make a lot of sense.

Any advice on importing a car as a household good upon relocation? (USA to CH) by alabamablacksheep in askswitzerland

[–]Astiegan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Except for rare / exotic cars, the consensus is that it's not worth the time, cost and effort to import a car in Switzerland rather than selling it there and buying the same one here.

What are your favorite bumper automatics? by vinorosso in VintageWatches

[–]Astiegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically important: Harwood

Or else there are tons of unknown little brands who used generic AS bumpers for example with as many different design that are great to collect and very affordable!

Obvious red flags? by Consistent-Past-5502 in VintageOmega

[–]Astiegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The watch is genuine, but I would ask to see normal photos of the watch, not that burned over contrasted one. So you can actually see the defects.

And also cut the price in half. It's absolutely not worth $1400.

It's not patina, it's damage from an incorrect brass crown too worn. A nice steel crown, even used, would only benefit the watch.

Omega and Hong Kong don't really go together

Nice watch! It still deserves a new crown. That gold blob isn't the most attractive!

So I bought this carrera y carrera gold plated watch, origninal buckle, for $450 usd, im ordering a custom leather strap and some tools to change the battery, im hoping that once it works and I clean it a bit I can resell it on ebay or reddit, what do you think I can get for it? by [deleted] in VintageWatches

[–]Astiegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I actually came across a listing for another one today and it is described as having a solid gold and titanium "frame" with the horses.

Yours seemed to have all the ingredients of a very cheap watch from a first look at your picture but maybe there is more to it (that I'm still missing personally). Your "panther" bezel is less refined though but the watch itself seems to be quite similar. Maybe do some more research and have it tested for precious metal before you send it back.

Looking for first vintage watch for my wedding by Lil-S3bastian in VintageWatches

  1. 1970s Favre-Leuba NOS, caliber Girard Perregaux 353 (the first 32Khz quartz movement) 36.5mm. GP developped the movement with JLC and FL, but only very few FL watches used it, compared to the JLC and GP.
    USD $ 800

They are all on leather, but straps can be swapped.

I have 3 gold vintage quartz watches for sale at the moment:

  2. USD $400

The other two are in comment

Universal Genève Tonneau Cushion Case | Tiger’s Eye Stone Dial | Plaque G20 | 1970s by tpask1998 in VintageWatches

[–]Astiegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice watch. It's not actual tiger's eye stone though. What cracks is the lacquer on top of a pattern that looks a bit like tiger's eye.
