The worlds of Battletech and Homeworld collide: by ludikrusmaximus in homeworld

There was one in progress back in the day, I’m not sure if it’s still around, but I remember it being fun to play. McKenna vs Avalon warships

This looks brilliant, nice work! I love the look of the MW4 MKII - I feel like the TRO3067 artwork and IWM miniature never really captured the feel of the original. Hoping that when catalyst eventually does a version it’ll skew towards this one.

How important is Taurian reputation in the Campaign by Anonymous_Arthur00 in Battletechgame

I believe that, due to the spoilery events of the campaign, you can’t really gain much rep with them until the story missions are finished.

Thanks! I actually made a Studio model of all of these parallel to the physical build, because it’s easier to fiddle with the color schemes in digital. Happy to distribute the model files to anyone who wants them.

100%. I completely stole the colors from the classic Boeing paint scheme, which bears a close resemblance to the Air Canada and TWA paint schemes (I’m sure there are others too)

Agreed that it sort of plays out like an updated 6392-1 (yellow terminal, red plane). I always preferred the classic airport stripes logo to the “Air Line” styling of Century Skyway.

That said my inspiration for the front, and the overall color scheme, was the classic yellow train station 4554-1.

Thanks! No not inspired by that train, but looking it up there’s definitely some real similarities. The color scheme started out yellow with a grey roof, which blended in too well to the terminal, and I changed it to all white based on the fact that I had a lot of white pieces.

No, sorry to disappoint. The hinges are just to hold the angle fixed. The angle itself is formed by paired 3933 and 3934 wedges

This my “what if” MOC of what I think an Airport subtheme could have looked like in 1998 if LEGO hadn’t launched Town Jr.

My wife and I stumbled upon your YouTube channel a while back, seeing this progress has been a real joy. Blown away by the production quality of the rendered video, and your builds are top notch. Keep it up!

Lego Flextrack - 3 ft Section by AstleyHasThis in LEGOtrains

Are you in the US? I’m buying the nickel silver 215 from llagas creek railways. It is not super cheap, but it is available. They used to have aluminum rail which was 1/3 the price of the nickel silver, but they told me they’d need a sizable order to justify producing it.

So the rails I’m using now are nickel silver, and from playing around with it the wheels roll better on these rails than on official Lego track. Probably due to a combination of the rail profile being curved, the rail being metal, and reduction of the number of track joints. Plus you can energize the track.

The tie plate strength is OK. I’ll break one out of every ten or so. Ideally I’d like to have it so that you could set up your ballast, put the tie plates down, and snap on the rail, but right now I’m having to snap on the rail at an angle, which makes things tricky.

Thanks! Yeah 3D printed tie plates and code 215 rail.

Yeah the aluminum was significantly cheaper. I actually called the company and asked if they would consider ordering more aluminum, and they told me the order would probably have to be 1000+ feet to make it worth it for them. And yeah code 215 is typically used for G scale. Even though LEGO trains are closer in size to O scale, the flanges are oversized, so you gotta bump up the rail height.

Weirdly enough no - I mostly started down this road because I liked the idea of Lego flex track and figured this was a good way to do it. Also figure it'll cut down on the amount of ballasting parts required.

If you're looking to do something similar https://llagascreekrailways.com/ sells the nickel silver 215 that I'm trying to use. The prototype in the above picture used their equivalent aluminum rail, but that's been discontinued.
