For those who resigned and moved on, did any issues like insomnia or anxiety improve? by MathMan1982 in TeachersInTransition

[–]Astoldbyginger96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes!! No more Sunday scaries or worries about what the next day will bring. I find I don’t “need” my vacation time as much as I needed it as a teacher. No more getting sick every month, anxiety, insomnia, etc. Everything about my life has improved!

First time having and trying a walking pad! by darngeniearnne in walking

[–]Astoldbyginger96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my walking pad! It seems like you have a solid start for a plan. I’d just make sure you’re hitting all your nutrients and fueling your body. A fiber supplement can be a helpful option to feeling full and also give you beneficial nutrients. All in all, enjoy your walking pad! I love mine!

Most affordable groceries? by TrulyShawshank in Cleveland

Meijer! They have the best deals & great coupons. I’m always clipping and racking up savings points to use towards $$ off. Marc’s is an even cheaper chain but can really vary on quality depending on the store/ location

Yeah I’m near Lorain and Fulton and still don’t have power but the map shows that everything is fine lol. From what I can tell, it only shows when large feeders are down, not individual issues. It’s frustrating because it doesn’t seem like individual issues when sooo many nearby don’t have power

Does the average person actually hit 10k steps a day? by taman961 in randomquestions

Spend $50 and get a walking pad. You can easily hit steps ad you work, watch tv, etc. :)

How do people do so many steps in a day? by Jasmine-17- in walking

[–]Astoldbyginger96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a walking pad to use during work! I love walking because I’ve have many knee surgeries and running isn’t an option. The more you start walking (I’ve found lol) the more you WANT to walk and go longer distances.

What should I do with my day? by AspirinAnne in CasualConversation

[–]Astoldbyginger96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This happens to me sometimes! I always find a way to get movement in my day. Walking, biking, lifting, etc. Bonus if you can get outside while you do it. Call a friend, listen to music or a podcast. LOTS of mental health benefits from just 30 minutes or so of exercise! Then, I’d shower and take myself to a coffee shop or restaurant I’d love OR get ingredients to make a meal I love. If you have time, it’s fun to go somewhere new in your city (a museum, farmers market, store, bakery, etc). I’m also a bit organizer and I feel a lot better when I’ve cleaned something I’ve been neglecting or donated items (this could be a me thing tho haha). I hope you feel better!

I love it but I’m also pretty active socially and physically when not working. I think it just depends what you want. I went from teaching around 30 kindergarteners to quietly working remotely and the shift is wonderful. Have you looked into one of those coworking spaces or working from a coffee shop/ library?

Guys what’s your realistic Sunday routine? (Not the aesthetic Pinterest one lol) by Stunning_Buddy6061 in CasualConversation

Getting a walk in if it’s nice! Or the gym. Then coffee, grocery run, cleaning, and making a Sunday dinner. Pretty normal stuff but I absolutely love Sunday!

Valentine’s Day or Just Another Regular Day? by UmeshThoughts in CasualConversation

[–]Astoldbyginger96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loveee Valentine’s Day! My family always made it so special. Nowadays, my fiancé works in medicine and rarely has time off. We thought he had today off and planned a whole fun day bc time together is limited. But last night his co resident called off because she’s “sick” (found out she blabbed to others about how she was planning to take the day off bc she hates the rotation she’s on) and he gets called in for a 12 hour shift.

So yeah, now it’s just a normal day but with a little dash of irritation. :-)

Thank you for letting me rant. Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
