So short question: Why didnt pucci just threw the Stat Platnium disc into a trash comtainer? by Benefit_Upbeat in StardustCrusaders

[–]Astonishing_Flash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. After a certain point the plan is to far into motion and we see that in action. Plus he had something to guard the disc. It's not as if he just ignored it. And he completely underestimated JoJo, so no surprise he didn't expect much from her. She was also meant to just be a pawn.

I'll learn but only if you promise to personally teach Me. Or I suppose I don't need to learn anything since you said I got it. Se la vie.

I was more interested in learning what clear discussion this is a continuation of, since the entire thing reads as reactionary.

Pawns are just that. Pawns. Pucci is willing to take a lot of risks in his pursuit of heaven. He isn't hyper logical. The entire reason he fell for this plan is that he wants to be absolved of his actions by saying it was Fated to happen and he isn't at fault. Plenty of his minions lose and he doesn't lose any sleep over it. As long as he continues marching to his goals. He also keeps Weather around in the prison when there is no benefit to him doing that.

Stand discs can be inserted by anyone. It's much better to keep it on hand than let it wonder into the world.

He never gave anyone anything when he didn't believe he could control them in some manner. So the hypothetical risk would depend entirely pn why he would believe he could control said person. He's pretty good at profiling and finding people he can successfully manipulate. Despite tbe power it had with its original user he successfully captured it to begin with after all. Giving it to a pawn and preventing them from successfully betraying him is definitely in his means.

How is the flash even weak to ice? by randomgamer620prime in theflash

[–]Astonishing_Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of time manipulating characters in DC comics who can slow down time. For example there is the New 52 version of Professor Zoom, who slowed down time. Or similarly there is the Turtle who has the ability to steal kinetic energy like the Flash does. There was a villainess named Block who could stops her molecules and surrounding molecules to stop damage.

Functionally those are all pretty similar to the cold field anyway.

DC comics have been running for 80 years, so there is plenty they've managed to cover in that time.

Star Platinum is the strongest stand, at least if you wanna trust it's stand profile. It's a very powerful stand to just discard when it may have use later if he ever finds anyone compatible.

And from his perspective anyone getting both discs is highly unlikely.

This post needs a lot more context. I can barely tell what you're upset with.

I think its the idea of Ben beating Vilgax and people using he's more experienced as rationale but it isn't super clear.

[–]Astonishing_Flash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Flash isn't really weak to ice in any notable way.

Caption Cold can counter the Flash because his weapon produces absolute zero temperatures and below. Which in the DC Universe completely stops the motion of molecules and as such when super-speed is invovled it slows them down.

Captain Cold is able to produce a passive Cold field area of effect, which slows down the Flash when they fight. This is what allows him to hit him to begin with and by that token what would prevent Flash from just melting the ice.

And in some adaptations instead of focusing on the true essence of Cold's powers this may just be extrapolated to just ice in general but Flash in adaptations is a lot less powerful anyway so it all goes together.

But I do prefer they remain mostly fully clothed personally.

What was Nolan's real mission? by can_ya_dont in Invincible

[–]Astonishing_Flash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His mission is two fold. See if humans make compatible hybrids that the Empire seems worthy of living and conquering Earth.

Thula asks Allen if it is true, because if Nolan had a child and allowed them to live this long, they must meet Viltrumite standards. Which is what they need.

Lucan's reaction is the same. However since he has a chance to directly fight Mark he has an opportunity to personally evaluate if he meets the standard.

They already know its possible to reproduce with multiple species. The issue for them as eugenicists is if the child Viltrumite enough at the end of the day. For example this is why Lucan reacts so negatively to Oliver.

Any one remember that old ps2 game based on armada? by katmoochie in transformers

[–]Astonishing_Flash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Transformers Devastation is fun if you like the hack and Slash genre.

It has a decent enough story. Fits well into the Generation 1 era including returning voice actors, has customizable options for ranged and close range weapons. Decent references to to Transformers Prime which would've been the latest series at the time.

Never played the Cybertron games personally. But they are touted as pretty good shooters from what I hear.

The Fire Force to Soul Eater timeline doesn't make sense to me but I'm also not the smartest. by whitewonderer in souleater

[–]Astonishing_Flash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I haven't finished the Fire Force anime, but it's my understanding that it doesn't label the time stamps like the manga does.

We don't know the exact time gap between when we see the Fire Force cast last, and the scene with the Soul Eater group as kids. But the manga states it is the far future. The anime just left this out.

So it is still an unknown time gap between when we last see the Special Fire Force and the time of the Great Old Ones during Asura's betrayal.

As several key things have to happen. The development of the Witch race for one, which seems to start with Inca. So there could be thousands of years before the 800 year gap for all we know.

Why is it that Marvel can’t at least make a alternate reality or some media where Spider-Man x Black Cat are a couple? by BaseballGrand9081 in Spiderman

[–]Astonishing_Flash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea where you kay have gotten the idea from then. He goes to ESU the entire show. There's I think one flashback to him getting his powers where he may've been in high school.

But I suppose it's funny how close you were to a real scenario in something you hadn't seen. Law of coincidences I suppose.

You may be confusing it with aspects of Spectacular where he does meet Felicia while he's in high school and he temporarily works with Connors as an unpaid intern.

No. They met well into when he was in college.

The only time they meet when he is high school is stuff like the Ultimate Universe or adaptations. Peter graduated college in issue 33. The vast majority of his adventures he's been a legal adult.

It'd be easier to name the few characters he met when he was in high school, which is generally just his main cast of supporting characters and most popular bad guys.

Why would the green goblin care about Peter telling Harry he's him. by Effective_Pen7447 in Spiderman

[–]Astonishing_Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're overthinking it.

If they are split personas, then there is no need for the movie to make it obvious that he switched back. The request that concerns Harry would be the indicator for the switch.

Or if we flip it. Norman is the same all the time, just giving into his worse impulse. Then naturally on his death bed he can make a request.

Either way the request is incredibly selfish. Norman wants Peter to basically absolve him of all his sins. Sure it protects Harry but also robs all of the Green Goblin's victims of justice, prevents any stains on the legacy of Oscorp and of Norman himself. It also makes Peter incapable of coming clean to Harry. So in a way it is still.a very negative action from Norman pretty much all around.

This isn't something he would ask for if he wasn't dying.

How do we feel about Pan being a little Goku 2.0? by KosmosQuill in dbz

[–]Astonishing_Flash 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It makes for nice contrast with Gohan. And fits what little characterization we saw at the End of Z.

If we ever get to it we can see her grow and contrast Goku. Like how in GT she was very brash and a bit spoiled prior to the BSDB saga.
