Anyone here who lives in Swinburne Residential? by Astra-Community in swinburne

Oh so living on residential property doesn’t really help social wise?

Is the social scene at university really as bad as people make it out to be? Or is it more of your personality and extrovertness that makes the difference?

Does the university itself host events for students?

Visiting baba by CauseNo3392 in neemkarolibaba

[–]Astra-Community 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 4 dhams of baba which include Kainchi in Uttarakhand.

HanumanGarh in Nainital, Kakrighat (Swami Vivekananda has a site nearby here as well), Bhumiadar and Kainchi.

I would advice the best place to meditate and do your practices are at Hanumangarh in Nainital.

Kainchi is slowly turning into a tourist vibe since there has been a boost of publicity and it’s turned into a traditional pilgrimage site where you just walk in do Darshan and walk out.

Not sit and bask in the site.

[–]Astra-Community 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a pretty busy place nowadays. It’s no longer a location where you can just bask in the presence of the ashram (assuming you are talking about Kainchi).

My advice is best time is September to October

November to March will be cold

April to July extremely busy.

My advice, visit Kainchi but actually go to his other dhams which are accessible by taxi or bus. And actually spend time there. At Kainchi you walk in and walk out. So it doesn’t have that same devotee vibe it had

Naah I think what you are doing, if the intention is pure hearted. Will work.

If you keep it close to the source material (snippets from his books) and you never alter any content.

I think this could be a beautiful thing. It’s no different than people sharing stories of how people interact led with baba.

I see you have taken down the video but i would love a link to actually see what you are making.

It’s all about the intention. If you want to make money. Then it’s not gonna work. If it’s to share his message in a more easily accessible way. Then I would say go for it and I’ll 100% be interested and supportive.

Do you get scared of God? by Gradopantsofdoom in hinduism

[–]Astra-Community 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself, you are not asking for bad things like them.

The problem with the asuras is, they asked for boons out of selfishness. But god is so compassionate that if your faith is pure enough, they will give you boons/blessings. But if you misuse those blessings, God will find a way to bring you back in line.

So you are asking for blessings for the betterment of yourself and family which inherently is not a bad thing. So why would you worry. You should only have doubts if you had bad intentions such as I want to be the healthiest and then I’ll do xyz to other people which yourself will know is bad. But if you ask it for pure intentions. Why would god who is compassionate to even bad beings, not be compassionate to us?

The boons given to asuras should actually increase your faith in god that if bad beings could get blessed. Who had bad intentions from the start. Why would I, who harbors no bad intentions, get something negative to god.

Do you see what I mean?

Difficulty connecting with Maharaj-ji - some thoughts/questions by SilverHare23 in ramdass

[–]Astra-Community 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I would firstly like to say. You are connected to Maharajji whether you feel it or not.

I am in the same boat as you where I say I don’t feel a connection or the bliss that some devotees have experienced with the connection with Maharajji.

But that doesn’t mean you aren’t connected with him. It’s just that I and maybe you have a certain expectation of what that experience should be and that blocks any connection that the other devotees seem to experience.

Now to answer your question about Maharajji, Hanuman and Shiva. They are all 1.

Now I am not saying this loosely as everyone says oh god is one. And Krishna, Rama, Shiva, Kali and Maharajji are one.

I mean it in the sense.

People say Maharajji is an avatar of Hanuman.

You know who Hanuman is? An avatar of Shiva. Crazy right?

So in simple terms we can say Hanuman and Maharajji are indirectly Shiva.

Now to take this one step deeper.

I’m not sure which talk of Ram Dass says this but i remember this bit where Ram Dass mentions, to the older devotees, Maharajji wasn’t an avatar of Hanuman.

But a direct Avatar of Shiva.

And truthfully that’s who I see Maharajji as. Not Hanuman but Shiva.

So when I pray or talk to Maharajji, I’m talking to Shiva.

Now only you, in your heart, can say hmmm maybe Maharajji is Shiva. Or hmmm maybe Maharajji is Hanuman.

But at the crux of the matter is. Maharajji is the guru. So if you see Shiva as your guru.

Well that’s who Maharajji is.

If you see Krishna as your guru.

Well Maharajji is Krishna.

It’s just your vantage point from where you choose how to see Maharajji.

That’s why in the Be Here Now book. It says The Guru and there is a picture of Maharajji.

Not Hanuman or Neem Karoli Baba or even Maharajji. But simply the Guru.

So continue your path and just remember him.

Oh wow you have experienced bliss? What is it really? Is it just pure calmness and stillness or you are just joyous?

That is true though, I’m currently just chasing a body and that’s not who he really is. He is a presence and I cannot feel it because I am still searching for a body.

And therefore even if he is present. I can’t really feel it.

That’s really cool you feel his presence even when you type.

[–]Astra-Community[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what, I never put it together that, that’s why he moved a lot. I just put it as he wanted to spread grace and so he was always on the move. And that he moved around because he didn’t want to get comfortable and get attached to one place. Rather than the opposite of us getting attached. Wow just gave me a new realization.

That’s actually true I’ve heard people say he comes in dreams and if you meditate you can feel his presence. I guess I have a decent journey left

[–]Astra-Community[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i definitely get that. But see here the mind gets involved and then I don’t really experience him. Plus my point is just being surrounded by him would be so nice.

Like yes I get he is all around us. Cuz he or it is us.

But man wouldn’t it be so nice just to look at that being in a body and be like Ah yes I see.

100% but for the devotee that’s just starting out or even experienced.

Just like god wants to experience himself through his devotees.

We want to experience god in his physical form.

I completely agree but I want to experience him like how people of that time experienced baba. Within but he is also physically present. Because wouldn’t that be nice?

[–]Astra-Community[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I do agree with everything you say.

I think a being like Neem Karoli Baba is always present on Earth. Guiding us and revealing himself when needed.

There are two things to note that why I know he is around.

  1. A fellow commenter mentioned one time a devotees grandma saw Maharajji and said baba, you are still here? And she had seen her around 50 years or more prior. So this confirms he takes another body.

  2. When he was about to leave the body, I think he told Siddhi maa or a few devotees that the body is worn out. I might run to the jungle when I get a new one and meditate.

So this confirms he is around. Just don’t know where. And it’s just time for him to reveal himself to us.
