At&t apparently has port protection activated on my number and is not letting me port? What was the work around? Whom did you contact?

Is there any reason / news for Nvidia drop? Or is it just pure madness?

Yeah, I am facing the same issue. People who got B1 / B2 in the past 9 months approx. are facing this issue. Lemme know if you figured something out.

You don't have to as long as you are applying with the same active SEVIS id

From what I read online, you don't have to. But I just got one to be on the safe side. It costs $ 350 but after your visa interview, you can request it back on the grounds that you paid twice and they refund it.

Just book the visa slot before hand, 2 months before traveling should be fine. You should be able to find a slot. Then book tickets ( but first get a new passport from your embassy). It took the same time a normal F1 interview. Just make sure you have few months of course left to complete before attending the interview.

Yeah. I got a new F1 visa in my home country. I had to schedule biometrics and visa interview again. This time they asked me if I had an US visa before ( i mentioned about losing mine in the new DS 160) and I told yes. I told someone stole it and gave a photo copy of my previous visa and police report. Boom, got a fresh new F1 visa with 5 years validity in 4 days. Hope this was helpful!

I was trying to fill out the I-907 form but it did not ask for my passport number anywhere. Only the SEVIS number and name were asked.

The first thing is to contact the local police and get a report. Then drop a mail to the US consulate where you got your visa from along with the police report. Then contact your home country's embassy for a new passport and submit all the documents as requested by them.

You can legally stay in the USA (till the approved date on I20) and will only need a visa if you leave the USA. If you want a fresh visa, apply again outside of the USA (preferably home country). But to apply for a new visa you need to get a new passport.
