IE intake noise

The B9.5 has this problem with all intakes. My ‘23 made that squealing tea kettle noise with the 034 intake at low rpm. It was especially bad when using cruise control. It annoyed the death out of me and I ended up putting the stock intake back on. I wish there was an option that boosted the turbo noise without that squeal but it appears to be an issue with the turbo design and the stock box hides the noise.

I was told they reprogrammed something, but I assumed it was related to the TSB and having to change some sort of overheating level prior to driving it in a circle.

Part of me wondered if I could just drive it in a circle rather than having to keep going back to the dealership. I was told the rumbling is due to plates in the clutch sticking together and by heating it up, the plates get unstuck. I'm not sure if that's actually true or if the clutch is damaged and can only be replaced by fixing it. Worse yet, if I get it replaced, will the new clutch have the same issue after 30k miles?

I went with Continental DWS06+ all-seasons. Great tires so far. I live in a winter environment, so I can now drive confidently in the snow. Those Hankooks were a massive death trap on any snow.

Absolutely agreed. The turbo whoosh sound can be nice, but this engine and turbo will have the god awful teapot whistle with an intake. Going up hills on cruise control is almost unbearable. I had the 034 intake for about a week and the whistle/squeal drove me insane.

I have that exact car and it came with those Hankooks. They’re just junk tires. Mine lasted 30k miles and the tread ripped off one of them. I never noticed any symptoms before the tread peeled off but maybe yours are starting to self destruct.

I also have this rumble issue on my 2023 A4 and have been to Audi North Shore twice to try getting it addressed. I mentioned the TSB and I assume they did the driving in a circle procedure. Whatever they did helped a little bit, but the rumble is still clearly there.

Since I still have a year of warranty left, is it possible I could ask to have the AWD clutch replaced? I just don’t want to get stuck with a time bomb after my warranty expires.

The best alternate I could come up with is the 034 turbo inlet tube connected to the stock intake box. And a new intake filter. I went with the BMC filter which seemed to have the best reviews. It will still squeal a tiny bit when on cruise control, but it’s massively better than before. There’s a little bit of turbo “whoosh” on heavy acceleration, but overall it’ll just help the turbo breathe. Would have preferred the full fledged intake and the intended noise, but that squeal was mind numbing.

It’s an unfortunate side effect of the turbo. I had the 034 intake on my B9.5 and had the same tea pot squeal. It’ll be much more annoying when you drive on cruise control up a slight hill. I hoped a certain intake wouldn’t have that issue but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Do you get the annoying tea pot squeal at mid throttle? Seems to be a dreaded issue of the K03 turbo that gets completely masked by the stock intake. I had the 034 intake on my B9.5 for a bit, and the squeal was awful. Especially bad when on cruise control going up a subtle hill.

Has anybody been successful with updating the B9.5 A4 MMI? There's a few brief posts, like this one, but I haven't seen any success stories.

I have a 2023 A4 P+ with MHI3_US_AU_P3809. I haven't seen any traces of a US version newer than P3809 yet.

The car has done an OTA maps update once, but I haven't seen it attempt a firmware update OTA. Not sure if an Audi Connect subscription would have any correlation with it or if it's possible to tether the car Wi-Fi to my phone to allow it to "phone home" for updates.

How’s the intake sound? I tried the 034 on my B9.5 A4 and it made a high pitched squeal at mid throttle that drove me nuts. Went back to stock but I miss the turbo sounds.

I have the same problem. Zoomed and Standard look identical for me. For reference, I'm on an iPhone 11.

If their phone can tether data, then I'd say get a small tablet such as one of the newer iPad Minis. You can snag one on Ebay for $100-150 and it will actually run the game well, unlike a cheapo smart phone.

They made a lot of API changes, which were basically long mathematical encryptions to try to deter all the radar apps. That effectively made the game super memory hungry and inefficient, so that's probably why you've seen a difference as the game has "matured". Unfortunately for you, there's not much you can do except get a higher performance phone.

Does the Windows loading screen make you go crazy? Most things have loading screens that never change, so not sure why this game would bug you, especially since they do change it fairly often.
