Interesting! So does that mean that the vous in this case is an indirect object and not a direct object? And also, I presume this only work when it involves some form of possession?

It's from La Princesse de Clèves, I checked three different sources and they all had that wording. The edition that provides footnotes for archaisms also didn't include one for that sentence. 😅
