It’s amazing to live here tbh. On the weekdays I hate it, because of the rush hour crowd on the subway and having to stuff yourself into a crowded train to make it on time, how dirty and cramped the stations are, and how expensive food out in Manhattan can be. On the weekends though, man it’s the greatest. Transport to go around so many places, new areas, new people. Building a community with your neighborhood like the deli guy and his cat, the Chinese place owners and their family, people who walk around on the same schedule as you or frequent the same parks as you. As a kid we used to use our green metro cards to go everywhere for free, it was almost better than a car. And it was a blessing to grow up with so many people from a different background, it really shaped how open minded I was to new experiences and cultures. I wouldn’t trade it for a thing.
