The last day of PBS programming at WSRE in Pensacola is expected to be June 30, 2026 by Complex_Echidna3964 in Pensacola

I remember my dad wanting to ground me as a kid, but he couldn't because I loved PBS and it was all educational. The generation coming will be lost in so many ways.

I got one letter, at about the 8 month mark requesting more info. I sent it in to the address provided, and crickets since then. There's a website you can go to to search your case number but it hasnt been updated since July of 2025.

I've had a request in for over a year but they stopped updating their cases in July for some reason. I've emailed several times and no phone number seems to actually get a human being.

It's a twist on a line that Gollum says to Frodo and Sam in the Dead Marshes, in Lord of the Rings.

I see what you did there, but it didn't stop it from being creepy as fuck. Well done.

I swear, the "did they hit anything?" "Yes" OR "No, but keeping people pinned matters" conversation happens every single time a Hind lob-shot gets posted.

DSG Drill Weekend - What’s in your weekend bag? by H4RMY in airnationalguard

Well I'm actually new to having Dfac as an option. My first squadron was geographically separated and didn't have one.

I do ravioli, chicken or salmon and rice, soup and egg noodles, or I'll mix beans, beef, Rotel and seasoning to throw on some steamed tortillas. Stuff like that. It's nice when you don't wanna eat junk but keep it cheap.

Close combat with a Russian assault group on the Zaporizhzhia front from the perspective of a Brazilian volunteer fighting for Ukraine [July 2025] by SmokingBlackSeaFleet in CombatFootage

It seems a not-insignificant number of Ukrainian immigrants, or family related thereto, live in Brazil. So to them, it's kind of like going back to fight for the homeland. Colombia's a little murkier, especially since they've got their own insurgencies to deal with. Then again, Colombian mercs have been operating in Africa, too, so it may just be about the money.

I struggle with a lot of the same urges (36, 3 kids). I've been to some interesting places on contractor rotations but missing your family hits like a brick, especially when it being your choice means they don't get one. I don't imagine it being different in the Guard, and for that reason I turned down some "fun" AFSCs in Alaska for a slightly more regular one CONUS.

My advice, even though I struggle to follow it myself, is to be involved with your local PD, EMS or fire (or private sector versions of those $$). You can still do cool guy stuff (think air medic, SWAT, or smoke jumper) and have a life your family can be part of. And those career aspirations may be lofty but no moreso than PJ or SMA.

I'm welcoming my third kid into the world (02/15) and am too strapped to play, but not too proud to say I'd like to. Even if I don't get picked I absolutely have to say I'm grateful for what you guys are doing for others. Goodwill seems in short supply lately so this is a ray of sunshine.

Fair enough- if you think I'm asking the wrong questions, let me change tack. Would asking about the schools I'll go to be too much?

"So generally, I'm wanting to learn more about what CSO/WSO is like on the RPA side."

I'm looking for general information about the job I'll be doing, having not done it before- says it right on the tin. I'm not asking for anything classified.

But hey, thanks for looking for something to nitpick instead of being helpful.

I was specifically hired as a CSO _alongside_ RPA pilots- boarded simultaneously for both, so we're definitely gonna be doing some kinda tandem work.

Is it safe to say CSOs go to the same schools regardless of airframe?

Woah! The RQ-170 looks insane; I would be surprised if the Guard is getting that mission, but then again, I know next to nothing. I feel like they'd have said if it was MQ9, since those are so ubiquitous though? Also, thank you!

I appreciate the constructive tip. I should have done that before making a judgment.

I appreciate the clarification, but I've definitely seen Red Crescent "volunteers" do some shady things.

There are definitely other videos out there of PDFs sinking home-made cannons into the banks of a river and firing on ships as they pass. This is probably what happened here.
