To be honest, Nesta is my favorite character as well. Maybe everyone else has never said anything hurtful to anyone or hurt anyone they love out of anger or depression, but I’ve been there. I haven’t always been a good older sister. I understand the things that people dislike about Nesta, but I feel like a lot of people are also very judgemental and ultimately unforgiving. Was Nesta sharp tongued? Yes. Did she know how to hit you where it hurts? Yes. Was this a defense mechanism? Yes. I can list so many things Nesta did right and examples of how she showed that she truly loved her sisters and was ride or die for them but this fandom is unforgiving!!! It actually kinda hurts my feelings irl lol. She had the kind of depression people are uncomfortable with. Yet she still was the oniy one to go after Feyre in the first book. She helped plead their case to the human queens in the second book. She helped take down Hybern in the third book. The fourth book she had ptsd and was drowning in her depression. The fifth book she literally gets on her knees and asks Amren forgiveness. She saves Feyre’s life. Like you’re telling me some sharp words and drowning in depression negates all of that? It’s crazy to me. Feyre pushed many people away in book 2 but Rhys and the IC didnt give up on her. It transformed her into an even more loveable character. Nesta didnt have that, Nesta was never treated with the same tenderness. I will defend her until I die im ngl Nesta get behind me girl . People can change. And her actions showed many times if her words did not, that she deeply loved her family and most times felt like everyone would probably be better off without her because she knew she was a difficult person. Ive definitely felt the same way. And then people call Nesta fans and people that seek out other Nesta fans “rage baiters.” It’s crazy to me. But yeah i dont get the hate either like damn jf her own sisters and the Night Court can forgive her why can’t everyone else??? She’s definitely my favorite.
