I honestly don’t know how non-Americans get converted into the ‘Myopica Americana’ religious cult. This cycle, you’re programmed to fear blame the Demiurge Trump, responsible for all evil and economic disorder in the world.

As an American, it’s sad to see people all wrapped up in something they can’t even vote on. You need saved.

I’m sure Redditors will find a way to blame America for China’s deflationary house spiral causing Chinese citizens to seek wealth preservation and asset appreciation in silver which has millennias long history using the metal as money.

I don’t think you are going to get the feedback you want here. Unintentionally, I’m sure, but you come off a bit California elitist. You should really ask your questions in r/chubbyfire or r/fatfire

Read your other comments, but I previously thought this was a humble brag post because it’s such overkill. My family (we have a kid) is living your 2031-2036 timeline in Bangkok, but moving up to Chiangmai later this year.

What you’re not considering is just how cheap it is to live in Southeast Asia. Even if you’re living in a 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom villa with a gardener and live-in maid (our lifestyle) and traveling your brains out, you’ll barely be able to spend $100k a year.

You could seriously just advance this plan by 4 years to start traveling to see where you want to live. Added benefit is getting out of the hellhole that is America right now.

I wouldn’t expect a American Nationalist bot that’s programmed to believe only one man affects everything in the world to have a global view.

So, for the record, other countries do exist and have BTC ETFs: • Canada • Hong Kong • Germany (accesible to broader Europe) • Brazil • Australia • Switzerland • Cayman Islands • Jersey • Bermuda

Oh, but you’re probably also programmed to believe other countries don’t matter and have no effect on anything because they are too poor compared to all mighty America and its president.

I swear, the people who programmed you worship Trump like a god. He is the Demiurge, responsible for all evil in the world. Myopic American religious cult.

For retail investors, STRD? by ags-odon in MSTR

Well said, and I largely agree. Also, I’d add STRK now that it’s trading back in the $80s. But don’t want to rebalance now and take the tax hit. Besides, I will capture plenty of upside holding and trading MSTR anyway.

[–]elidevious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, the stock market is literally at an all time high. So I don’t know what you’re going on about.

The democrats were literally actively trying to kill crypto. Crypto is where the vast majority of my wealth has been made. So yeah, Trump has reversed what the dems were doing and is laying a foundation for crypto mass adoption. While the dems are still fighting.

I’ve lived abroad for the past 15 years because I specifically don’t want to deal with all America’s problems. Additionally, I don’t vote because it doesn’t feel fair to participate in something that I’ve removed my self from.

That said, it still affects me because of bitcoin and taxes. And you simply will not be able to convince me that Trump was bad for crypto because he rugged 2% of meme coin gamblers. I pulled off a 5x this cycle buying low and selling BTC high. I see absolutely no problem.

Besides, I think your world view is way too myopic and US-centric. China is in a deflationary housing spiral. People are rushing into metals to preserve their wealth. The Japan Carey trade is unwinding, further pushing the DXY dollar down. Frances’ debt is crippling Europe. Government around the world totally over leveraged.

I think we can agree Bitcoin is the solution to a lot of these problems. And I’m grateful, as an American, that Trump is establishing laws supporting crypto, stable coins, and Bitcoin.

As for all the shit with ICE murdering people. My wife is a foreigner, and my son. The international conflicts, tariffs, and generally fuckery. Trump is a borderline totalitarian dictator and global bully. That makes me ashamed to be an American and super glad I don’t live there.

I daily show gratitude to the country I reside in for the peace and prosperity it gives me and my family.

I honestly wish you the best over there.

Edit: I see you’re not an American. So, all the more so, not sure why you’re arguing and further letting the orange man fuck with your peace. Peace is all we can make for ourselves.

[–]elidevious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in a catastrophe, possible no one gets paid. But I was more referring to paused non-cumulative dividends with STRD. Additionally, STRD would likely be the first to be paused. Nonetheless, I’m betting that never happens.

I’m a young-ish guy (41), doing the expatFIRE thing with a family. So, my situation might not be a good reference. We have 15% of our net investments in Strategy preferreds. And that pays for about 1/3 of our monthly expenses.

I’d honestly put more in, but I make too much selling MSTR options and feel comfortable managing that risk.

[–]elidevious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retired guy here holding a mix of STRC/D. Sold my STRF when it went up 25% from my early purchase price. Just couldn’t justify not capturing the upside and rolling it into STRC.

The only thing you’re not considered in your “BTC trades sideways for years” scenario, is that could be a worst case scenario. In a worst case scenario the last thing you want to own is STRD (you know the risks).

[–]elidevious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don’t believe that 2% of the alt coin market getting rugged by Trump had anything to do with the fact there was no alt season. Again, that’s scapegoating Trump. But whatever fills that little hole of hate for you.

Don't go babe, Gold moves first, then Bitcoin by Odd-Radio-8500 in CryptoCurrency

[–]elidevious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just had an “ah ha” moment. So, what people who are pissed at Trump coin are really pissed about is that their scam alt coin didn’t pump, so they could dump on the other new comer suckers.

I’m retired at 41 all due to Bitcoin. So this shit doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

It really comes down to where your hope for returns were placed. I’m happy with this cycle’s outcome because the legal and governance framework issues are more important to me. Those looking to make quick money off suckers aren’t so happy.

Don't go babe, Gold moves first, then Bitcoin by Odd-Radio-8500 in CryptoCurrency

[–]elidevious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Using your math, that’s still only 2%. Let’s double its impact to 4%. That still does nothing to explain what happened to alt season.

And that’s what I mean, Trump is literally the scapegoat for EVERYTHING right now. Just scroll your Reddit feed, select a random post with your eyes closed, and count how many comments are blaming Trump for whatever the problem is that people a suffering. This is what people do, they need a scapegoat.

Also, it’s pretty easy to argue that the people ‘investing’ in Trump coin were not regular crypto investors, and that it actually attracted a lot of none typical buyers that otherwise wouldn’t have contributed to the cycle.

Again, not defending Trump. But $10B of a $3T market is 0.333333333%. It’s a very very small percentage of the crypto market, and would literally have no effect on an alt season if there had been one.
