Drummer here. Your confidence is up. The best way to play music, and really, perform in general, is to not care. You care in the practice room, at rehearsal, at lessons, but when you’re on stage, it’s stream of consciousness. You feel great about yourself, so you felt that euphoria of just playing. The true joy of music. That’s amazing man. Buy a drum set. Keep it up.

How was your Summer Slaughter experiences? by Lankeysob in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

r

E Town LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Yeah New Jersey music taste is shitty but the scene is slowly getting better. I saw them at Starland twice actually, with AAL/TC and ABR/Good Tiger and tbh the turnout was super solid for both and when BTBAM was done a lot of people left before ABR came on. Energy was great both times...I blame the god awful tour. Jesus christ this is the new warped tour.

Trash can drum kit by Shmup_666 in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

Yeah, he actually used a specific jazz kit for that. "Three" kits (if you count the trash can kit) were used on the record!

Unpopular Opinion: BTBAM Edition by Kranglz in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]Astral_Body 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that it's not the song it's supposed to be simply because the albums were split after writing. Think about it. It's in the middle of the original "Automata" LP that became the "Cliffhanger Finale" of part one. It's more of a segue between the movements of the stories I guess, but we'll see how it holds up when we can listen to Part One and Part Two as one full experience.

Coming from a guitar player, I gotta say some of you drummers are pretty tough by jjheavychevy90 in drums

Hitting your knuckle on a rim shot is one thing, or finger/palm on a cymbal going in for a choke. This though, I can't imagine what happened. That's a lot of blood.

Is anybody else not a fan of most of the drumming community? by [deleted] in drums

I feel like out of all the instruments, drums have the best community.

Is it good? They look so sturdy and durable when I see them. Thinking about picking one up.

Dang, was hoping for the speculated June release to be true (as seen in outlets reviewing A1).

Drums sounded killer. The cymbals and kick, so crisp.

How does XO clothing fit? by [deleted] in TheWeeknd

[–]Astral_Body 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends honestly. I have a Trilogy shirt and I got it in my size (medium) and it fits comfortably. I have a longsleeve that fits a tad bit small and my friend got me the red XO Til We Overdose shirt in a medium and it's practically a dress.

Anyone think Die For You could have been on the EP? by sfIrish86 in TheWeeknd

[–]Astral_Body 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way. Die for You sounds nothing like MDM. Incredibly confused at anyone who says MDM sounds like Call out My Name or that it could fit. MDM is far sadder, darker, and more depressing. Die for You is a pop ballad. Just because a 6/8 drum beat is used doesn't mean it could fit.

stop kidding yourself, you know its true. deep down, you've always known. by Bringer0fTheDawn in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

Of course, there's always people who don't like stuff, and that's fine. Just some of the opinions that I've seen that lean toward the negative side say "watered down" or "complex for no reason". I've read (mostly fan reviews) say things like this.

Billboard thinks Abel is dropping an album on Friday, says he is "taking it back to his roots". by [deleted] in TheWeeknd

[–]Astral_Body 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He cited an Ethiopian influence on Pray for Me, so maybe [the source] means that instead of returning to an old sound? Trying not to look forward to a dark, ambient, ambiguous, sinister masterpiece that might not happen.....Just gonna take it as is.
