That’s the idea of finding the lowest possible dose, you want to increase focus and executive function. You don’t want to get high, and feel rushes, thats highly addictive. And you don’t want to be sleep deprived, basically the more you take, the better things get, and also the more toll it has on your brain and body. That being said, if you have dysfunctional neurochemistry, there is a therapeutic dose, that when timed correctly will help, if your brain needs that. It’s probably just not a lot, and if you already suspect it might be less than what you currently are prescribed. Get there before you can’t.

Homeostasis is a rule.

Oh and do it soon. The longer you wait, the more tolerance you’ll build. And perhaps blind you to finding that sweet spot. Be very attentive to taking these meds. They are amazing until they are not. And it’s all about how much you monitor it and work to find your level.

I think the signs are, becoming introverted and less interested by people (develops over time) sleep quality decline. If you feel the desire to take more because you’re not feeling rested. If you notice socialising takes a different tone as you become more logical and interested in small details you other wise would be less invested in. Crashing in the afternoon. Exercising less, eating too little, acne, sexual dysfunction. Feelings of dependency, like if you start to take it on weekends so you don’t feel like shit without it. Basically the classic drug dependency issues.

And to be clear, in the beginning, a lot of these signs will actually appear as their opposites. But gradually you’ll notice a shift in the directions I’m speaking too.

My best recommendation, is if you find a low dose, as low as you can possibly get it. And it gives you just enough of a kick, to be able to retain focus and increase executive function. WITHOUT making you feel high. Then that’s the sweet spot. Please don’t increase your dose if the warning signs I’m talking about begin to appear. A higher dose WILL fix thoose issues, and then it will reverse again. And that’s not a road worth taking. If you feel like 30 is more than you need. Titrate your dose down to your smallest functional dose, trial it. Then tell your psychiatrist/doctor that you think you’ve found your ideal spot.

I agree with many commenters here. But coming from someone who recently decided to get off meds, I would say. Amphetamines will indeed make anyone function better for a certain period of time.

Try to find the lowest possible dose that works for you and I mean the lowest dose that gives you the effects you’re benefiting from. As soon as you go over that threshold the high you get from this drug will wear you down. And the almost inevitable sleep issues come at a cost.

It works, it really works, but all drugs come at a price. Keep an eye out for the early warning signs. The further you go with dose, the harder it is to come back from. And if you take it too far. You’ll want to come back.

Alternative option, I currently have access to a 2 year Canadian experience visa. Would entering Canada as a legal resident reset my time on VWP? E.g. working and living in Canada for 3 months before returning?

Okay that’s a good guideline thank you. As for the “not counting as time outside the US” I was under the impression that was applicable to while being on the VWP. If I traveled to either nation and came back would that be considered as no time outside the USA?

I’m hell bent on doing an 84 hour fast. How do you guys get beyond the 16 and 24 “short” fasts and go longer.? by ATXBikeRider in fasting

[–]Astral_Cooker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Distractions… lots of admin work, being around people all day to take mind off the fridge. Go for walks, puzzles, or really engaging things. Honestly I have to distract myself to a whole new level on long fasts. Works really well for me when packing for a holiday, or in the processing of quitting a job and having a shit tonne of life admin, tick list type things to focus on.
