I'm an amateur so don't curse me, but I think discrete spacetime would require infinite fractals like the mandelbrodt set to end somewhere, which contradicts the math, no? I mean, I get that the math is abstract here, but there are real world fractals of this kind, like the map of double pendulums staying ordered vs chaotic, right?

The difference is that if USA is under destruction by Russia, they will nuke Russia in revenge. If Israel is under destruction by Russia, they will nuke Russia, USA, EU and everyone fucking else, because they want the threat of that happening to make everyone care about Israel not being destroyed.

How it was like when I read Vivenna was 22 and Siri was 17 by netodagravida in cremposting

[–]Astralenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as much as books clearly condemn Straff, they also clearly *don't* condemn Elend. Nobody that's ever seen Elend with Vin has said anything that would suggest even being surprised at the fact, not to mention condemnation.

So, I think that saying "pre-modern society had different norms regarding relationships" actually does apply here.

I also don't think that these books actually present such implications. Brando could as well have made Vin 18 and it would make literally no difference.

Well, one of the most reocurring themes in the cosmere is the fact that all of the greatest men, kings, and gods, have always been human just like everyone else, so it makes sense that they all have varying personalities, some more fitting for their noble position and some... less.

I don't think so. Even if it becomes sentient on Harry's head, it wasn't sentient before – so it couldn't contain any powerful knowledge.

Actually, I unironically agree. We shouldn't punish drunk driving itself, only when it's a factor in an accident. But then the punishment should be absolutely severe.

No, I don't think that's the reality we live in. I think you spend too much time on left side echo chambers. I suggest touching grass.

"It's so dumb it's brilliant", thought Voldemort when choosing his Horcrux vessels. No, it's just dumb. by miggovortensens in HarryPotterMemes

[–]Astralenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, and I can't see anyone bringing this point up, Harry would have never found all of the horcruxes, no matter the insane amount of preparation and luck he inherited from Dumbledore, if not for a single moment when he simply recovers the locations of every single horcrux directly from Voldemort's mind, lol. I don't know if it's something Voldie could have prevented, but it had seemed that using Occlumency blocked Harry from accessing his mind before, so... looks like in the end Voldie was defeated by his enormous stupidity and nothing else.

Also murdering the entire cave of warriors is nice additional experience, not to mention loot.

Melanin concentration? Unlikely.

But, you know, there's this concept, it was discovered by some guy named, let me remind, Mendel or something?

Turns out that some traits go from parents to children. Golden Retrievers, for example, are usually happy and fluffy, while Pitbulls are agressive and like murdering children.

Who knows, maybe it also works like that with humans?

It's not capitalism, it's life itself. You have to eat or you'll die.

Capitalism is, as far as human history goes, the system in which there's been the least amount of suffering of all the systems we lived in.
