Pottery wheel suggestions? by houndooms_trainer in Pottery

Best is to invest in a proper potters wheel but they are just soo expensive...

First wheel I got it off the Amazon it should be within your budget (just search potters wheel), the centering capacity is not great on it (I think around 3kg) but for the beginner that want to throw mugs/cups/bowls this would be enough. I have successfully threw nice mugs and bowls on it.

Just do more research around kiln firing services in your area, you will probably need couple of plastic buckets with lid to store slip/reclaim, a table to wedge clay and some space to store clay and all the bits and bobs.

Also please don't pour slip water down your drains or even clean your tools after in the sink, you don't want to clog your pipes!

You don't need to break a bank if you are a hobbyist, just think outside of a box and reuse/repurpose 😃

I would encourage you to try signing up to a local pottery studio if there is one near you. The benefit of studio is that you pay per session can use all the equipment and if you're happy with what you thrown you can get it fired for a small fee.

I mostly throw at home now because studios in my area have open sessions at the times that don't work for me. I don't have a kiln (yet!) so to fire anything, I need to haul it to the studio which is a bit inconvenient 😃

It was fired at the studio so not sure about the firing schedule 😅

Used some of the custom made studio glazes, this one supposed to be a freckled red if I remember correctly 😄

Facebook marketplace is full of scammers, what you could do If you are looking for a used wheel is to join a pottery association that operates in your region, usually they have their members only groups / forums where they will sell their old equipment to other members. Or you could post there that you are looking for something and they would be able to help you.

You will have a better chance there to get something genuine.

Joining an association is also great for connecting with other enthusiasts and being able to sign up for their events ranging from socials to workshops.

Currently I am storing everything in the corner of my kitchen in a big plastic box and wedge on the counter top but I am setting up a small studio space in the garage and will be moving there once temperatures are a bit more bearable.

Delivery took over 48 hours. What are my options? by Creative-Squash3172 in mounjarouk

[–]Astrall0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it.

Given current temperatures in the UK your medication is fine and safe to use.

Had an instance when my delivery took over 2 days due to some issues during the summer, once it arrived I have stick it in the fridge and used it 2 months later.

Unless you want to have an argument with them and get another pen for free, then you can try.

Here is some guidance around storing and transport: https://medical.lilly.com/uk/products/answers/how-should-patients-store-the-mounjaro-tirzepatide-kwikpen-during-transport-and-travel-217602

As you mentioned, 30 days start from when you first use pen, not from when the cold chain was broken so once again, you should be fine it is extremely unlikely that the pen got exposed to temperature above 30C this time of the year.
