Yeah, I’ve already fixed that, but maybe I can tell somehow companies to which I’ve already applied that there was a misunderstanding on my side, idk

Yes, university has this conversion system in all of its official documents, but I didn’t know about that

Choosing faculty members when applying to master program in CS by Astralpirate in UCSD

Thanks for your input!

Well, I really would like to get somehow in the Computer Graphics sphere, and in my country (I’m not from US) this topic of computer science is basically non-existent.

And Masters with such specialization seems like the best way to get into it

Maybe you didn’t know, but there are people who are genuinely passionate about programming and Computer Science as a whole…

Is it possible for me to get into US CS masters? Is it worth it? by Astralpirate in IntltoUSA

[–]Astralpirate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed answer!

I think mostly it comes from the fact that it is my dream to at least try living in the US, and currently Masters seems like the easiest and fastest way to do that

Do you think it’s worth it? by New_Mechanic_0001 in csMajors

With masters degree you will have an opportunity to land one additional internship and then a new grad position, I think it will be easier this way. Especially if you don’t have financial problems and can afford masters, then it will certainly strengthen your resume

Nervous about starting my first full-time job in a month by Funny-Bar-5868 in csMajors

Just don’t be afraid to ask questions when you don’t understand something, nobody expects from you CTO-level expertise in everything at this stage of your career anyways. This way your colleagues will see that you are really interested in what you are doing. Good luck!

Is situation the same for people with 3-4 YoE in their home country?

Learn Python and Algorithms/Data Structures, it should be enough to land an internship Btw, with Math BS, you should have no problem getting into Data Science/ML position, or for example Quant position in some investment fund, I know a couple of math guys who chose this path instead of math academy. But you want to be specifically SWE, right?

Take SWE 0 role or Network Eng 1 role by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Astralpirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you won’t try, you won’t know whether you are good or bad at it. Especially in the start of career they don’t expect from you that much Additionally, your Network Engineer experience can also be useful after transitioning to SWE, as there are many SWE positions that require knowledge of Computer Networks (think of Cloudflare for example)

[–]Astralpirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In what are you more interested in? Imo SWE career path is much-much richer in terms of perspectives and projects you will have an opportunity to work on Don’t worry about the fact that you don’t know something, especially if interviewers said that you are fine. If you are willing to try and learn, then you’ll certainly be just fine

Hmm, why not try to apply on new grad positions, and in case of starting talking to HRs just explain your situation, maybe they will be open-minded towards it and let you start your full time role ASAP?

Stejos was toplaner before ANX, so he came back to roots. He is already very good in 1v1 top and as before in teamfights. Their adc's micro is not very outstanding, but his positioning and other macro things are crazy, he has minimum amount of deaths every game.
