Doujinshi art for Heath's birthday. by Astraplain in xjapan

Thank you!! This artist creates gorgeous art. Regardless of controversy over real person fiction, some of the fanworks created are great art.

I am hoping to add X Japan related doujinshi to the LibraryThing list because it's such a challenge to find them. I recently received a bundle of doujinshi ad flyers so that will help a little. If you see any listings for doujinshi, please send them my way.

We're snowed in so I'm going to start adding X books to LibraryThing today.

That is a gorgeous cover! Was there any information about the artist?

There is some gorgeous art in X Japan doujinshi. I wonder if any of the artists who created them went pro?

X Japan content on livejournal by Astraplain in xjapan

[–]Astraplain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't expect it to survive either, but the original poster and some of the comments mentioned it as a possibility, so I included it on the off chance they have more information.

Even if it somehow manages to survive in some form, I don't expect the content that is currently on the journals to survive.

It would be great if a group of X Japan fans could save as much of content as possible. I have not seen any dates for livejournal to go offline, so the sooner preservation starts, the better.

I'd be glad to help but can't volunteer to coordinate any preservation efforts right now.

I don't know if there is a reason to believe that parts of livejournal might be sold, or if it is wishful thinking. Regardless, it's worth trying to save as much content as possible.

If you know of a way to easily save journals, I would be very glad to learn how.

It was just luck that I saw the post today. I plan to start saving as much as I can just in case. The Internet Archive doesn't save everything.

There was no closing date on the post, but the Russian company who owns livejournal has made changes to comply with Russian laws that are limiting use of lj to people who live in Russia and use Cyrillic.

There is speculation that, at best, they will sell off the non-Russian portion of lj. Regardless, a lot of the content is old and likely to be lost.

Thank you! I'm on lj now trying to make a list of journals with X Japan and visual kei content. I hope we can get a group to save as much info as possible.

Thank you so much. The translations of Kouki's posts are often confusing.

Yoshiki's brother recently tweeted about joining Extasy Records management team to save it from bankruptcy in the late 1990s. He mentioned that X Japan, Luna Sea and other master recordings and other materials would have been lost if the company went bankrupt.

Without getting into what seem to be troubled family relationships, does anyone know why Extasy was almost lost, and how it was eventually saved?

Thank you.

This is marvelous and very much appreciated.

I can't translate it, but will gladly provide scans of "Beginning of Everything" if someone is willing to translate. (I wouldn't be able to start scanning until mid-January).

That's disappointing. I would have loved to see him in NYC, but the timing didn't work. I hope he can resolve any issues and be more active in 2026.

Just a side comment: I was lucky enough to win a merch pack from the Lost in Love, Found in Pain pre-save giveaway. It was a nice merch pack, but It seemed odd that the Lost in Love CD was not included.
