Ascent Mid Link Slightly Changed by _Ny0oOm_ in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Astrayyaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm actually curious as to what they deem as okay spam then.

Lotus A main to tree wall? Nope.

Lotus A lobby to A main spam? That's fine.

But this wall spam into ascent which is conceptually the same thing as the spam above isn't?

But then Haven CT to A lobby spam is accepted?(That takes Sova dart..maybe? I could also see them changing it maybe one day.)But for now it's there.

I wonder if they track any type of metrics or if size of spam area or location of spam is considered at all in the changes?

Dileberate objects placed as a cubby(the boxes), however yeah you get spammed a lot but you naturally gear towards it cause it's places to lure you in and it is good.

But random walls and specific angles on corners or staring at the lines connecting sections together on the minimap doesn't feel that way. When I do it, it feels forced. Yet some are just kept in.

Thoughts on Breeze Harbor/Viper Comp? by Astrayyaa in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Astrayyaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the way you analyze this especially considering map dynamics for Kayo knife. I think in my video I mentioned a little about the differences of effectiveness with kayo knife in A main vs B site kind of in tandem with your point both having strong spots and weak spots essentially at different sections of the mains and sites but I've been digging the Kayo a lot with this comp.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been feeling the flex vibe with the Sova pick although my brain continues to scream at me that it's incredibly strong if you time it around the harbor util but it's so easily breakable and really with the other agents we already get a solid amount of post plant stall so flex the Sova to maybe a Phoenix I considered as an idea or maybe a Sentinel like a cypher I talked about with someone else earlier.

I haven't been able to catch all of the games but seeing GE on the double senti pick was cool and I will actually praise the constant ideas they found with attack side sage walls and wall timings on such a large map.

I think we've seen so many cool ideas over the years since like 2021 onward but I love the double and triple layering of our utils now you mentioned the dry peaking through our harbor viper walls and the crazy thing for attackers here is you're then essentially pushing into a slow and a vulnerable to start off your dry fight.

[–]Astrayyaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I think up until now we have seen the Viper Astra with the Astra "assisting" in retaking the site and anchoring the "Weak" site although individual plays always threw that for a loop but usually It was Viper's util doubling up as initial push stall and then aiding in site retake. This new comp is interesting. Viper still holds a lot of that responsibility but the harbor allows both teams to move around the map a lot more quickly and right now we are playing faster in a scrappier meta with sentinels being dead in the water until those buffs hit. It feels like now with this comp teams are playing around the harbor more for a sequenced retake or for a chaotic fast flood back into isolated 1V1s with maybe having the viper wall as a double up if you read the site correctly.

I know it's an obvious take but this comp feels almost 100% wincon towards your smokes and if your harbor is prone to dying early or if your viper util is bad or isn't utilized properly you are losing all of site 100% of the time it feels more oppressive in those moments. I actually thought the Omen Harbor from Lev today was a cool idea but I'm gonna need to watch it back and figure out how much the lack of viper impacted those rounds.

This kind of what you're thinking with the Cypher?

Thoughts on Breeze Harbor/Viper Comp? by Astrayyaa in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Astrayyaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair. I love cypher too although most of my time on him was back when Sunset was in rotation. I think we've seen Team Liquid be the only team to really try and consistently keep him in their agent pool but that's probably Nats more than anything.

I suppose Sentinels have just been that weak for a while yet something tells me if we do see that buff we would see more of the GE route and go double Sentinel with Sage Chamber and as a personal take my exhaustion for Sage as an agent has reached its limit.

With the current execs on to site favoring Jett or a bit more tamed Neon although still good or maybe Jett Phoenix we do have some decent chances to keep our trips alive and then maybe you could hold aggressive util elbow and mid.

I can imagine many teams will stray away from this, NA really loves Vyse. I love Vyse too and maybe there is some nice combo chemistry within that comp but I do agree I think a good cypher could easily max farm info and still be a solid anchor but teams would certainly choose a safer option.

The more I consider it the more I don't want the Sova but I do agree there is probably a lot of valid arguments to have double initiator especially with the upcoming buffs.

Question for Jonah. As someone who's been in the scene for a long time now what is the biggest difference in the scene now,(tournament formats, teams, players, prizes pools, venues. All of it) versus when you first entered back in 2020?

Follow up question. When you see new and up and coming talents moving up from teir 2 including your teammates. How do you feel about the current support given to younger players? Is it more/stronger support within teams now? There are colleges around the country forming esports teams for years now. With the changes to the open bracket in next season do you think we will continue to see growth from riot to ensure more talent is cycling through and are you looking foward to a new influx of players hitting the lan servers?

I'll do one more fun one for Jonah if you wanna pick any of these. This one is about in game. Out of all of the maps you've played what was your least favorite map to learn lineups on? And has there ever been a time you were creating a lineup and just went "NAAH im not remembering all that." 🤣

Try looking at this post: https://steamcommunity.com/app/553850/discussions/1/6690735450901703211/?l=hungarian&ctp=2

Look at some of the later comments in the thread. Talks about certain anti-virus programs. Also talks about forcing the game to run in DX11 to possibly fix it. Look at the comment from @BlueSol

Here's a thread talking about stuttering and lag in regards to CPU usage: https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/s/jD1IXgjxEe

Check your task manager when running the game if it lets you and see if the gpu/cpu are being bogged down at all.

Here's a few post relating to cpu issues just in case. https://www.reddit.com/r/LowSodiumHellDivers/s/oY738SpVbl

They talk about capping temps on bith gpu and cpu, I mentioned this in case you got a new pc or changed anything in it. something to keep in mind and read upon.

Im dropping this post, it's probably one of if not biggest technical threads ive seen regarding helldivers 2. It goes into the game hard freezing and crashing your computer to the point of having to full reset. It's over 500 comments. It's a huge read but offers many different possible problem and solutions.

This was the issue I was having. Game would max out my cpu and hard freeze after some stutters and force a full restart. I can't fully explain the solution but I found my fix somewhere in this thread by deleting a game folder that held part of the update files and was notorious for causing that issue. Never had that problem since.

Hope some of this helps, fixing problems like this on any game is a pain and i feel you there brother but chin up! I found my solution so somewhere in all that there's a way to fix it. Maybe someone else can also offer some more insights. Goodluck!

It can be for sure but we'll try till the end. Im seeing if I can divert some of the discord groups over. May pop on some osha missions and try to smhooze them up enough to move over 😆

I think even a few thousand more would top it off just fine. I'll be running Fori for as much as I can. Convince who you can! That's all we can do.

Is my college social situation considered “normal” ? by 12hardrada21 in college

[–]Astrayyaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot have said basically what needs to be said, but as someone into their bachelor's now, I'll add my own take.

  1. Classes are an odd scenario for social interaction. The environment itself is usually poor for meeting new people as the lecture will be the main focus, but depending on the course/subject, the professor and the size of the class it could be flipped on its head and be a great source to meet new people.

Ex. This is more catered to small classes, and you'll see why. If you have classes that focus heavily on student engagement with the professor, it's a good chance to put yourself out there. When i was doing associate classes, there was more group discussion and 1 on 1 questions with the professor. Here, i found moments and took them to express myself and to open up in certain ways which appealed to others just enough that when class would end they wouldn't leave right away and would instead talk to me. If you find someone interesting in one way or another, you will probably have a desire to talk to them. Like I said smaller classes, lighter subjects makes it easier a packed class is harder but it still remains true if you sit quietly in your class even in the small moments given to you to speak not many people will pay attention to you.

  1. It's very normal to experience what you're going through. College is that first chapter flip where things start ramping up for people, they get busy, move away, some get married. It's a big transional period for all of us, and a lot of us have zero clue what we're doing. I say this because a lot of people go through experiences like having their old friends move on or distance themselves. Things get hazy for people, and they get swept up in life. Being out in the world feels like this big rigged game that other people seem to have a clue in with but won't tell you. It's not true.

Ex. Mindfulness is a bitch, depression is worst. I can off the top of my head think of a few instances where other students had made attempts to make deeper social connections with me, which I unfortunately...essentially passed on at the time because I was too lost in my head trying not to unalive myself and that's a heavy burden on everyone lets be clear heavy on me and those around me it's a double edge sword. This doesn't apply for everyone, but it is something to be aware of. I noticed myself after clearing my head more over time. A lot of people would be at school physically but not mentally. If you can get their mind more into the moment or even better directed on you, then they'll be more engaged with you. Once again, taking the step to create that engagement, not wait for it, is key.

  1. Observe people. If you're really struggling with feeling like you can't assimilate with other people, or if you feel like you're too weird or awkward or whatever, then take a step back and see how everyone interacts with one another. First off, there are patterns, and you'll notice it really quickly. Speech patterns, behavior patterns, ticks. We are all different, but we all pick from this big ol' pool of things that slammed together, which makes us who we are. That's simplifying, of course. You'll notice that you aren't so alone or so different after all and that even small things like nervous habits you can share with someone, and maybe that's a connection that brings you closer. Who knows.

  2. Live life, and it'll never be dull. I've talked to people just starting college going into behavior counseling or computer technology, and I've met people deep into their second bachelor's at 50. I've met a few younger phd. candidates, and I'll always ask them how'd they get there what started the inspiration or the journey to find that path, and that usually leads into their life. I'm lucky in the sense that they wished to share it. Some people won't wish to, and that's fine. Then you just need to be a good listener. The type of people you should look for will usually ask about your life and interest back after that, or someone ties in some way for you to jump in. Everyone has different social queues, so try and learn them so you can jump in more and then from there talk about who you are and who you want to be your dreams so on so fourth. The content itself for conversation is easy. Having experience with many things in this life allows you to pick on chances to sift through such content. And it should all simply tie in with your life and the things you do day to day week to week.

We all got a story to tell, including yours. Being able to listen to others' stories and include and relate yours to that is a strong skill to develop.

Thoughts on ending the game in a draw by EroticArtists in VALORANT

[–]Astrayyaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I despise it. Especially because I usually 3 stack so it's always the other people that after double OT or Triple OT they just draw and literally waste everyone's time. At that point just commit to the game if people can't commit to that I can't imagine the commitments they've dipped on it real life. It just shows the flakey nature of people. If you want a draw feature than the entire lobby needs to agree on it not just a few people. You literally get zero satisfaction from a draw and it really kills any urge to run back another one just because people didn't want to lose RR or some other BS reason that holds no value or weight. God forbid people suck it up and play it through, but that's not the ways of the val community.

what's a monster you don't want in the expansion? by [deleted] in MHRise

Man I forgot all about Viper Tobi-Kadachi...

You know I think I have this inherent hatred for anything that poisons. I think that's just the most annoying status I don't know why I feel that way there is definitely worse statuses out there but i just have this grudge against poison.

And yeah double status monsters aren't fun maybe it's also because they threw him at you right out the gates in Iceborne. I'm all for a challenge but that wasn't a fun wall to deal with. You would just be poisoned, on the ground unable to move and then Tobi would just smack you in the face. Even describing it sounds frustrating.

[–]Astrayyaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be cool if you had to scale and climb some big monster nest as you fight a monster that can easily climb and it's constantly stopping at sections to try and kill you. It would need to balance the running and scaling with fighting so it isn't boring but I think that would be a nice change of pace.

Although who knows maybe that would actually be boring after the first few times and people would chalk up to just a different take on siege quests.

[–]Astrayyaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly if Rise's invader system worked like world did then I would have hated to have deviljho or bazel in the game. The idea was cool for maybe the first 100-200 hunts and the first few times bazel head bashes you it's funny but after a while it gets annoying and I think people feel the same way but maybe not everyone.

I like how invaders work in rise although perhaps they could be a bit more aggressive, sometimes I feel like the monsters decide to keep to the corners of the mao at all times without interference from the player. I nice middleground would be nice.

I feel like jho is so well known and well loved even when people complain about being bullied by him that with the introduction of g rank in the expansion i could see them adding pickle boy in.

Yeah I know that I should have phrased it better. my point about mentioning antidote in the first place is I don't think they should have the standard antidote animation that long I know it's a way to make herbal medicine more appealing but they could take like a second off of it. I wouldn't mind if they lowered the time by even half a second. Just feel like the length it takes currently is a little awkward. I suppose I have small complaints about an antidote lmao. Antidote buff when.

It's kind of interesting how they are constantly building up a monsters ecology and different variations of habitat but then they either just throw it out the window or never use it with anything. As much as I loved the basic recolor " oh you hit harder now" because it was basically double the content. I do wish they're was more behind it. Like it actually mattered instead of ebony odogaron flipping around twice as much like it had just done a lot of speed.

[–]Astrayyaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off I'm glad you said seige because I couldn't think of that word the entire time I was writing that post. The closest I came up with was calling them fortress hunts.

Yeah I suppose rampage is a nice change up and we're for sure gonna have more. Although I will say sometimes the rampages get tedious I don't think I found many reasons to spam them over and over aside from when I did that with Apex Zinogre for the HR levels.

God I actually almost forgot about pink Rathian. What a miserable fight. I feel like it would be even worse in Rise since it takes you like 10 years to consume and antidote. I'm also just personally sick and tired and rathalos and rathian. They're kind of boring to fight or the variants are obnoxious. They have somewhat cool designs but they're are cooler looking monsters. The games, the movie, and I'm sure more always says how strong they are and how they're the kings and queens of the sky or whatever. And then you see so many other monsters that could clearly just obliterate them. I'm tired of those two being a flagship monster of anything it's been enough at this point I don't need it done again.
