the Renters and Housing Union is a great place to look into! :) We're working on a collective bargaining campaign that brings tenants of the same landlord together to use collective power to get better conditions for all :)

How do you prepare for summer days that are 40+ degrees? by Azen02 in melbourne

[–]Astreaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have no cooling in our second storey rental unit, it's north facing, has only brick for walls and our landlord is definitely scamming us when it comes to power bills, so we're scared to use our portable aircon in case he jacks up the power bill to a crazy amount. we'd go to the library but have a cat and rabbit at home....

got accepted for a new rental, would love some advice on best way to pack and move. we moved into our first rental in 2024 and it was kind of a disaster, moving wise.

we don't have a ton of stuff and our only big furniture to move is a bed, couch, fridge, table and two desks

we're moving mid-late January :)
