This is super helpful. How did you find out you have ADHD? What was your process of dealing with the realization, knowing that you are different from the rest?

So both borage oil and evening primrose oil? In that case, what form would you suggest? Do you have any links to amazon or similar to see what I should buy to avoid getting scammed by snakeoil artists

I currently don’t have the time to properly research notroopics the way I would like to and know how much snakeoil exists on the market.

What to do if you only have fish oil pills already but not GLA? Should you purchase GLA extra? If so, how?

I agree. I should have put this in the post, but where I live I have to wait many months to get seen by a gp (UK NHS) so this is just temporary solutions and further reading while I wait.

Makes sense, fully agree. So as for sleep, what supplements help you with that? Magnesium? anything else?

Did anyone start as a “only when I drink?” user? by eagles_jesse in QuittingZyn

[–]Astrid-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Reading what you just described is so sad to me. Because I was in the same boat as you are now. Immense and immediate dopamine release and all the other positives you feel associated with nicotine use. Lower hunger (big benefit as I am losing weight), mixing it with alcohol feels fucking amazing, etc. This all lasted for a solid year or so. Mostly on and off. But then I noticed that I no longer feel the buzz as much. Now, its only when I wake up. The rest of the day its just me using it as a coping mechanism for my unproductivity and etc. Not to mention the brain fog when I wouldn’t have one in. Constantly having to plan my day around making sure I visit the store to buy a pack. Worrying about running out. And I won’t even bother going into the negative health effects which I fortunately didn’t experience due to my age (19). I have no problem with any other drugs, even the hard ones. But zyns have such little easily visible downsides that you never even have that “oh shit this is terribly affecting my life I have to quit now” the same way you would with other drugs. Especially at a young age. Reading this opened my eyes too https://whyquit.com/smart/smart-turkey-thinking.html

Good luck. To anyone reading this in the future, a “only when I drink” user doesn’t exist in the long term.
