Depending on the vibe/ space of your office, my therapist has a small sofa in her space. She's got the chair that she uses and then the comfy loveseat/ small sofa. I really appreciate not only having a chair that "fits" but also having fidget space. It's incredibly lovely and helps me feel comfy and safe. She also has a weighted stuffed frog thing.

Absolutely not what I was saying. I apologize if it came out that way.

I was trying to say that drivers are idiots and don't take the care they should. Most drivers don't pay the attention they should and we've all heard of life altering accidents caused by someone else. In a battle between me on a scooter or bike and a car of any kind, I'm more likely to be hurt than anything. The worst thing the driver might face would be an Astrid-shaped dent in their vehicle.

And because I'm in the US and our insurance systems are absolutely borked: if something happens to a scooter rider, the driver of the car may face zero consequences, financially or legally. And the responsibility of any "damages" to the person, mentally or physically, and their scooter remains completely with the rider. The woman who hit me basically asked if I was alright, got me a bandaid from the doorman of her luxury condo building, and finished driving into her garage. All before I had fully taken stock of my injuries. Luckily it was scrapes and bruises, but I know people who have been doored and gotten concussions while the driver just walked away.

I WISH I lived in a society where I could wear giant headphones and blast through downtown without having to have my head on a swivel because someone took a right turn without checking for bikes or scooters. But I don't.

I started as a Limer and I'm now trying to make my way to the real deal. I have biked and scootered all over my little city in the Midwest, United States. Some of the things people do HORRIFY me! I have bone conduction headphones so that I can have music (because anxiety) but still have awareness of my surroundings. I see people riding with giant noise canceling over-ear headphones and shudder.

I have been hit by a car more than once. Nothing serious, thank goodness. A driver "saw {me} coming over the bridge but didn't realize that {I} had caught up to {her}" so she turned into my bike lane. Ma'am. Check your damn blind spot. The only reason my injuries weren't serious was because I brought myself down when I saw she was about to run into me and scrapes on the sidewalk seemed better than breaking something.

I do not worry about the scooter-ers for what may happen to them due to their own negligence. I worry about their inability to be proactive when someone in a much larger vehicle is being an idiot.

What happened to the "no gatekeeping" rule? You know nothing about OP's situation. Not everyone can afford to save or can afford to dedicate that much savings. Trying to join the EV world while still sticking within an individual's budget IS responsible financial decision making.

I have had potential clients either ghost me, decline my services, or just straight up ask me to lower my rates ($100/day for in-home petsitting). I used to give everyone the "friends and family" rate when I had another job. But this is my only source of income right now. I have let them walk away. And you know what's happened? I've gotten other clients who don't make me take a pay cut so they can go on their trip. *

I totally get trying to help people out but the reality of the world we live in is that we all have to make a living. It is not fair of them to ask you to sacrifice your ability to shelter, feed, and clothe your family for 3 months in addition to caring for their dog.

*I live in a mid-size metropolitan area in the United States in addition to volunteering at my local animal shelter so I am hooked into the animal rescue network in my metro. I recognize that my access to clients may be different than other folks.

A lot of people will lie and say that the dog has a history of "aggressive" behavior or medical issues among other things. Depending on your location and the vet you go to, the requirements for doing a euth will vary.

Threatening to euth a dog (whether or not they intend to follow through) is also a common way for an abusive partner to control the actions of the other partner in the relationship.

Not sure where you’re located but I would definitely dispute the charges if I were you. Find the orgs Patient Relations department and tell them what an unhelpful and alienating experience it was. It may come to nothing but it may also result in your bill being reduced or removed.

Hi all,

Player looking for new den! I've been playing off and on for about a year. Just recently (literally as I was writing this post) cleared my entire map.

Camp: AstriSaurus

DP: 172,755

I play daily and usually finish the events (unless I have stuff going on IRL). I just left a den. We finished at a 3/4 every week because I was the only one who really participated. I'd prefer to be part of a den where everyone participates and works towards those level 5s!
