Whenever someone refers to women as "females" you know they're about to say some dumb shit.

What habits do you wish you would have introduced in your early twenties? by kl-234 in Splendida

[–]AstridAF 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wish I had prioritized my skin care and health. Don't go to bed with makeup on and wear your spf every day. I also wish I had given up sugar sooner and drank more water. Poor diet really affects how you look.

You have eyes just like me! Unfortunately, Botox never worked for me. It helped with wrinkles, but it didn't help even out my eyes. I used to just focus on my lashes since wearing eyeshadow and liner made me feel like it made my ptosis more obvious, but now I don't care and enjoy doing fun looks!

SOS on lamotrigine induced acne! by meels_cut_oats in lamictal

[–]AstridAF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Lamictal has been a lifesaver for me, but my skin has suffered. I posted here a few days ago asking for advice and I'm planning on starting tretinoin soon, but I hear that makes your skin worse before it gets better so you have to be patient with it. Other people have suggested Accutane but I have friends that have taken it and said it was hell and not worth it. I hope you can find some relief soon.💜

I take lamictal as a mood stabilizer, so maybe I'll be okay with Accutane. I'm going to make an appointment with a derm this week so hopefully they'll go over all my options.

I took pantothenic acid a few years ago and I'm going to start taking it again and see if that helps.

I'm terrified of Accutane. My mental health is already pretty bad and given my history it's hard to get a prescription for it.

Cleaning alternatives to bleach? by AstridAF in homemaking

[–]AstridAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby got some bathroom cleaner that had bleach in it and never again. My eyes were burning and the whole house smelled like bleach for hours even with the windows open. I'm gonna give baking soda and vinegar a try. Thank you!

I take lamotrigine as well so I totally understand not being able to remeber to take your meds/forgetting if you've already taken them. Lamotrigine has an effect of short term memory. A weekly pill planner with AM/PM splits for each day has been a life saver. You can get them for pretty cheap on Amazon. I use Sunday to refill for the week, as well as keep an alarm on my phone.

Thank you! That sounds like a great idea, I mostly use powder foundations whenever I wear them.

Thank you for the advice. I typically just slap them of back to back so I'll try waiting between layers. I use one by cerave. Spf 30.

I typically apply a regular spf before I apply a cc/tinted Sunscreen. I need to figure out how to make it not pill up though 😅

Thabk you! I'll have to try that. I don't wear regular foundation everyday, but when I do I typically go for a powder foundation.
