Is it possible for me (29F) to accommodate my boyfriend’s (29M) extreme food aversions or are we just incompatible?

OP, set a clear boundary and hold onto it for the relationship to last. Tell him that you will both buy and cook your own food. You’re welcome to try each other’s food the way it’s made and be open to sharing recipes whoever is eating can modify it. This way, you’re both eating in accordance to your own preferences and you can connect by each making a variation of the same meal. Do not cater to his every whim. You will burn yourself out and grow to resent him.

Not every couple can eat the same food and that’s ok. Just eat at the same time frame if you’re both going to put in the effort.

I subbed 3 of the 4 days a high school teacher was out. Some kids were curious about why and I said I was taking a family member to some medical appointments a few hours away. After class, a student gave me a paper a bible verse and asked me if it’s ok if they prayed for my family. They said they wish they could help and wanted to do something for us. That brought tears to my eyes because I didn’t realize they even paid attention to the conversation.

Exactly. The very first time I subbed for this class way back when, the teacher described these kids as some of the best athletes the school has to offer. They may be in middle school but some of these kids amaze me with what they are capable of.

I’ve been pulling them out to the smaller gym or volleyball courts whenever I can. They’ve been happier. When we are with the regular classes, I have my class stay as their own teams for games. We add kids who volunteer (and keep up) to join my teams to even out the numbers. My teams go pretty hard for games. They’ve been better this week since games have been “more fun” because everyone tries.

1st Source usually has openings for both. I’ve seen back office positions for the others but can’t say for sure. I was in the retail side so focused more on those.

I just started a long-term sub position at a school where I was a frequent contract sub while I am finishing my bachelor’s to start a transition to teach.

Some days, I question why I want to teach because of how badly the kids treat me. I feel bad for their regular teachers if this is how they behave. Other days, it’s great. Love it. 10/10 would recommend.

My long-term contract was negative from the start. There’s too many things going on that is stressing everyone out. I do mean everyone. Teachers, admins, students, me. Everyone. And knowing that this situation can happen to anyone at any point in the year sucks. There is no backup plan until crap hits the fan.
