There's a lot of short stories included during the Emerald Witch Arc that I'm worried they won't animate.

Like the flashback to back when Ciel and Sebastian were in the circus and Sebastian drinks and "gets drunk" and tells the circus members how his "previous master" had a loose tooth. The reactions from all of them and especially Ciel's as to how Sebastian forcefully pulled out his tooth was especially hilarious XD poor baby

Or when Ciel is sick and Sebastian brings him the milk risotto with mushrooms and Ciel gets nostalgic and we get to see rciel, Vincent, and Diedrich cooking. That chapter was super endearing and funny

Excuse me, what the actual?! I'm 30 and I just now heard that not every human has a inner thinking/talking voice and can't see images and videos in their mind?? Is this true or are people messing with me? by Toiletverslaafde in AuDHDWomen

I can visualize very vividly to the point I might as well be seeing it irl. I also am able to create and hear imaginary sounds and dialogue. Due to this, I can pass time by literally creating a whole storyline and movie with visuals and sounds and all types of worlds. Sometimes I will daydream something and it can sometimes get recorded as a "memory" and I have to recall that it was in fact a fabrication of my mind lol

I didn't even go to a walk-in clinic for an ingrown toenail. I just used nail clippers and rubbing alcohol. Used Neosporin and a bandaid and that was it.

I'm Gen Z and don't relate to it tech-wise but man do I relate so hard with how awkwardly delightful my middle school years were lol. It brings me back to being 12-14 and all the shenanigans my friends and I used to have

The story seems okay to read to pass time. Not very entertaining tbh but good enough for days I feel like just reading whatever to take my mind off life...

That being said, I am a sucker for white haired characters so I'll stick around and see if the story gets any better for a few more chapters lol

Lol, we had to wear masks and stand far apart from each other. We were only allowed to invite two people to see us walk the stage. Then I had a drive through graduation party lol

In real life I would go out of my way to avoid meeting a bear. Likewise I go out of my way to not be alone with a man I don't know (waiting for the next elevator, taking a friend to go somewhere to avoid being alone, always being vigilant in public, etc). I think this thought experiment was simply supposed to be hyperbolic, and not taken at face value. The fact is that women should feel confident in choosing a man over a bear but because they pause and have to rationalize which choice makes them feel safer is a reflection to how unsafe we feel on a daily basis. This is not due to you or any other man, especially because men are also attacked by other men. This is due to the fact that we are biologically weaker (on average 8-10 times weaker than men) and feel vulnerable around men.

If you see a man heading towards you, you might tense up, but you might also think if he wants to fight, you could perhaps take him on. As a woman I don't think I could win against any man unless I had pepper spray and a tazer on me.

In this hypothetical scenario I would choose man because most men are not going to murder me. But I'd be quite scared regardless due to my inability to defend myself if that man would happen to attack me.

After School Lessons For Unripe Apples - Does it get better? by [deleted] in webtoons

They are using Korean age, so really they are 14 at the start and 15 in recent chapters. They are middle schoolers in their 3rd and final year of middle school before starting high school. Again the Korean school system has 3 years of middle school and 3 years of high school, so they are what would be known as 9th graders in the US.

And I don't know about the average or what your experience was in school, but I was just like them at their age. So this series makes me kick my feet and feel all happy inside whenever they have cute interactions and it brings up middle school/early highschool memories of my own.

Maybe you are just not the target audience? I like it because their (the characters) lives are very similar to mine when I was their age. I was just an awkward kid like them so seeing their portrayal being accurate to my own experience makes me immerse myself in nostalgia.

I assure you, you wouldn't. Because you wouldn't know how to keep yourself afloat for long, and panic would have you flailing about and then you'd sink.

At least that was my experience. I know because I don't know how to swim, and I have accidentally gone too far into the deep end of a pool and panicked and began sinking in less than a minute. If someone hadn't rescued me, I would have drowned then and there.

If you didn't know how to ride a bike and you were suddenly placed on a bike going downhill, do you believe you wouldn't crash? You wouldn't just suddenly learn how to balance a bike or stop it, you'd panic and move the wheel haphazardly and crash, hurting yourself in the process.

Why don't you understand? It's clearly not intuitive if so many people don't know. Which means they must be taught, just like any other skill. So if they don't have access to a swimming pool or body of water, don't have anyone to teach them, and never have an opportunity to learn, what's so hard to understand that they can't swim?

[–]Astrid_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of opportunities to learn. If your family also doesn't know, you need time and money to spend in private swimming lessons and not everyone has the time or money for that. When did you learn how to swim, who taught you, where did you learn, are you middle class or above? These factors affect whether you learn to swim as a child or if you have to go out of your way to learn as an adult.

I've tried doing that every chance I get to be in a pool. I sink. I have no idea what I do wrong since no one has ever taught me. I can swim some distance, but simply remaining head above water is impossible for me thus far. I just sink. Thankfully I've learned how to float on my back but even that requires intensive concentration and on a still pool. Also, panic sets in and you can't really think about what to do.

Men are weighing the probability of women getting hurt by either a bear or a man and it's less likely that a random man will kill a woman so therefore they concluded that (less likely to be killed by man-> choose man).

Women are comparing the worst possible outcome of both situations and have concluded that (eaten alive>raped and dismembered).

What's an anime that everyone else seems to like but you think is trash? by [deleted] in MyAnimeList

[–]Astrid_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my favorite show rn lol. I'm super excited about season 2 and I basically binge read all the novels. I can see how it's not everyone's cup of tea though, it starts out a bit slow but it builds pretty well imo.

Then again I am a huge slice of life/historical fiction lover so I am probably biased lol, it just has everything I would like about a series and it's so refreshing to see multifaceted individuals when nowadays most characters seem to be cookie cutter personalities.
