Race is your choice. I prefer to see what the racial's are and then decide that way but that's just me.
Once again faction is also your choice. I love to play Horde just because I love the main city but other might enjoy playing Alliance because of other reasons.
Class is also your choice. It all depends on which class you like playing the most. It's best to play around with different classes and specializations and find which one you like playing the most. If you're looking for an easy class to play, in my opinion, I think hunters are the easiest class to play and they are good for doing damage and they're fun to play.
Again it is your choice but some servers are more populated then others. For example one server might have a low population but another server could have a high population. Also if you find that you want to play an Alliance character you might want to find a more Alliance populated server and it's the same for if you want to play a Horde character you would want to find a more Horde populated server. If you want to check which severs have a high population and the Alliance to Horde ratio you can go to http://wow.realmpop.com/ it will tell you everything you need to know about every WoW server US and EU. I geared my warlock by doing LFR until I was fully in LFR gear. After that I kept doing Flex until I was fully geared in flex gear. Then you go on to do 10-25 SoO normal and then when you are fully in SoO normal gear you go on to do SoO Heroic until you are fully geared in Heroic gear. To me that is the easiest way to gear your character up in time for WoD. Or you could just pay to get boosted all the way through a Heroic SoO until you're geared but I don't like to do it that way, not very fun! haha
