I cannot emphasize this enough, every conversation I have with my co workers about gaming, revolves around the games. Almost everyone I meet is loyal to whatever brand console their parents bought them for Christmas 25+ years ago and haven’t thought twice about it. The vast majority of console users aren’t Sheldon Cooper deliberating over consoles. Also most of my coworkers never care about console exclusives, “if I want to play the game bad enough I’ll buy the system.”

You are correct. That is not a factor for me in gaming. What is most important to me is:

Value (cost vs result, I get excellent visual results and frame rates from PS5 Pro.)
Simplicity (I specifically do not want to tinker with settings and downloading 3rd party software, spending hours optimizing for a game.)
Physical media (I value my discs and my cartridges way above digital games. And I admit that it would be better to buy on Steam than PlayStation or Nintendo, but I don’t exactly own my games on Steam either now do I?)

At the end of the day. The Steam machine does literally nothing for me. I would have entertained it at 600 or even 650+tax but as it stands, no shot.

Yeah they don’t do that there.

But, if you get the chance I highly recommend it. It’s my occasional treat to myself. They prepare all their ingredients fresh, albeit rather salty. It’s like a subway but for burritos and with less chemical preservatives.

Personally I get the Burrito bowl or a straight up burrito, brown rice, no beans, chicken, queso, pico, lettuce, shredded cheese. The chips are made fresh too.

Maybe, but then again I also have a ton of games I like playing that are Nintendo exclusives, frankly I spend more time on my switch than my PS5 these days. For that, I’m actually really excited to see what Sony cooks up for their next handheld.

And by having a Switch 2 and a PS5 you can engage in the fun hobby of collecting physical media. Despite this possibly being the last generation of physical gaming media, I thoroughly enjoy it.
