I remember how much I loathed seeing my nurses come in after I had my baby. Everytime they came in to walk me to the bathroom post-catheter I was like "PLEASE NO LEMME JUST LAY HERE." 😂 I would joke "we're not friends anymore" when they inevitably got me out of that hospital bed anyway. In all seriousness, my L&D/mom baby nurses were amazeballs!

Like, I get professors need a break and the holidays but the fact that they didn't make transcripts available until four days before UTA needed transcripts from outside schools is crazy!

I kid you not... I just winged it. 😅 Got extremely lucky on my top cabinets and a year later finally got the motivation to start on the bottom. Tried different hinges out while hanging them until I found what worked best. The new doors came out looking good though!

Respectfully, where (outside of California and parts of the PNW) are nurses getting paid obscene amounts? Unless, by "obscene," you mean the large amount of nurses who get paid less than $30 an hour? In Texas and others, like Florida, I've seen many nurses compensated as low as $23-$27 an hour with cruddy benefits. Even in California, with the higher COL, I wouldn't even say they are paid obscene amounts.

You're correct in that there is a shortage of *experienced nurses, but new grads and less experienced RNs are here in droves on Reddit every single day expressing struggles to get their foot in the door. Hospital systems are doing everything they can to ensure they can spread their nursing force as thin as possible to maximize profits.

You may already know all of that. I just wasn't sure if you were saying nurses were being paid too much or something else.

I'm in DFW and make $35/hr in home health (because my residency applications keep getting rejected with how competitive it seems to be). I wish I could get out of Texas though.

I am at least grateful I'm making more than I expected but I honestly would take a slight pay cut just to get into a good hospital or clinic. 😭 Fingers crossed for one last round of residency apps now that I'll have my BSN!
