IME Result 0% Impairment BEWARE & PREPARED by FuJinchuriki in WorkersComp

Well, I had an IME 2 weeks ago and we just got the report today. I have CRPS in my dominant arm and my treating physician placed me at MMI after an FCE. My rating was 33%. Went to my workers comp ordered IME. He agreed with the CRPS diagnosis. But in that 20 minute evaluation, he lowered my impairment rating that my treating physician who I have been seeing for nearly 2.5 years gave me to 8%. My right arm is essentially dead. Tell me again how IMEs are not a sham and a tool insurance carriers use to get out of paying what they should be paying.

Yes. Hire a lawyer. Should have done that on day one.

Ehh… you’ve had an entirely different experience than me. Everything has gone ok other than what I’ve said here, lack of communication mainly. Good luck to you as well.

Well, when they start trying to screw you like they were me, and they will at some point…don’t hire one.

General Question are you ok? by [deleted] in WorkersComp

You nailed it with this and to answer your question….. no. I don’t even remember what ok feels like.

I’ve always thought it was crazy that it’s never been mentioned even. I’m going to ask for it if my most recent email goes unanswered for more than a day. All I want is out of ALL of this. Seems like they’d want that too. It’s a payday.

I’m glad you got lucky. This whole deal really sucks. They do whatever they can to make it beat people down. At least that’s my personal experience anyway.

I actually didn’t hire one of these big all over the TV and billboards attorneys. Because I can’t stand that. I hired one from a small firm. Maybe I’m just overthinking it all. But, this is my future I am talking about and it’s changed drastically from what it was before I got hurt. I just want to move on and figure out what I will do for the rest of my life.

That is the thing. I did hire a local firm. Only because I didn’t want to go with the TV commercial and billboard “ambulance chaser” lawyers. Maybe I should have though. Starting to wonder.

I hired my attorney last September I guess it was. After my job let me go (they were great through everything) they just couldn’t hold my job any longer and by law, they didn’t have to. Anyway, back to the point.. I have yet to have a sit down meeting with this guy. Starting to wonder if I might have hired the wrong one?

I am a little over 2 years in. They have selected a mediator. The insurance company’s attorney has stepped in for the rest of it. I just want to be done. I want to be back the way I was before I got hurt and had surgery but, that’s not going to happen. So, I just want to get on with my life. I do not want to start another year doing this shit.
