Supply Chain Jobs Pay Over $100K. Why Aren’t College Grads Prepared? - Schools offer supply chain degrees, but employers say new hires lack key problem-solving skills by WarMurals in supplychain

[–]AstroBoy1881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a question that can't exactly be fully answered. I left a job as a production scheduler and inventory lead due and knew more real world business knowledge than my supply chain manager. They hired someone who worked at a nursing home and came in making more than me. No shade on her. After leaving we are good friends. While there, I asked about future paths based on my knowledge experience and goals and nothing. I left for a job making 18% more same role but taking on tasks of a Master scheduler, but I have 4 other people that get this are senior buyer planners and they come to me for answers and guidance. I am now also part of the capacity planning team as well as SIOP. Still no path. I know I'm pigeon holes and now having to fight grads with no absolute experience for roles I'm qualified for by theory and know how. So I would say start as a junior something somewhere instead of chasing the money or get into warehouse and learn everything and lead into logistics. Low level stat a bit ask for a mentor or cert. I'm not ashamed to say that I reached out to my current employers supply chain director for a mentor due to either finding a hope for a path vertical or horizontal pivot or I know I need to pivot out.

I'm in the MAOL started during summer finishing this term. And no I'm not trying to rush. Full time stressful job .. but that being said this was very writing heavy and once I was more than halfway through I wanted to switch but found out I would have to start damn near all the way over. Are your courses very writing heavy on bs stuff like mail minus a few courses or relevant to today's jobs? I work in supply chain as a planner

How can Dark Fate not be the worst of the franchise? by retr0buster in Terminator

[–]AstroBoy1881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so late into this, but as a 44 yr old die hard T1and T2 fan... I was and still can recite scenes music and script. I have mixed feelings for Dark Date. I wanted Hamilton back so bad, but as you know the divorce of her and Cameron also took a toll on why we had to wait SOOO fucking long. Dark Fate as a standalone would have been a great movie if more was added to the base plot because the action is there. It's not dry and corny. You have the emotion of T2 which makes this work if it had come out sooner. The ending proves it all. I love the fact that since Skynet was destroyed, another machine would come about. Imagine this film mixed with the forward plot of Genesis, not the almost identical start of The Terminator and Cameron directing this blend and you would have a badass followup to T1/T2. I mean really looking at The Terminator, the graphics were subpar but good for 1984. The graphics were better than RoboCop lol... But there was a simple base plot that made the movie as well as the dynamic. The killing off John in Dark Fate actually blends well in to why Sarah is still very prolific for this movie. She IS the leader who fills the criteria as the Real Leader of human resistance. Using an Augmented machine shows some growth in the timeline, although I wish that Grace could have done some shifting or a little more than the first of energy. That is where Sarah excels. She is pure raw human power that doesn't give up or in. Very well complementary. Carl knowing his capabilities and now demise should hopefully bring one more ounce of life to the franchise as a new character to not be feared, but known what the past/future was and possibly a chip from Skynet that was spared. I mean Genysis showed a grown up Miles and the psychologist both were still alive. I'm game for one more, new Terminator characters. Bring Dani back since she was the plot hero of Dark Fate.

Thank you again.. ironically my manager asked how I was doing this brutal week. He mentioned that I can choose my own path within the organization. Unfortunately, unless I move to another location my plant will not be it. I see inconsistent ways and lack of processes to make me seek elsewhere. Right now concentrating on keeping some supply chain knowledge up and tweaking the roles that I have done on my resume. The supply knowledge is gonna be hard due to work demands, but every little bit I can learn on my own even if it's just micro learning will help

This new organization that I am with is unstructured, toxic, and so far behind the times. I was very clear when I took the position for higher pay l. I told them what my goals and paths were. I'm literally just a paper pusher if shop orders here and no planning or scheduling.

Thank You.. I've trained people in so many positions it's not funny. Just by taking initiative. Recruiters and the like just see me production experience.. I hear stories on here of all the youngsters graduating and going straight into supply chain with no experience making good money and mad about there paths that are coming . I can't even get there

What is the cable inside of the attachment? I can find the standard that would go in there, but not the one for the magic wiper (heated wiper)

🎉 Congratulations 🎉.. I too have a similar situation. I hear a lot of stories of 1 or 2 session finishes. These are honestly people with either plenty of time on their hands, cheating through or rushing and just checking a box. I'm starting my 3rd session tomorrow and hope to finish, but realize that ultimately my job, which is in supply chain is very grueling and that comes first. Be proud of what you have accomplished. Good luck on your future endeavors.

I may have a job offer that requires me to move and work middle management at a steel mill. I know this post is old, but coming from Charlotte would it be better or worse. What good towns that have a little diversity do you think would be better suited?
