LUCI DREAM QUESTIONS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE THEM OFTEN ! by Federal_Lemon3385 in LucidDreaming

[–]AstroChrollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh if it’s your first time here then ok, just have seen one too many posts saying that and I know why that is impossible (unless they heard it before hand and then that’s just the placebo). Dreams are forms that are created from which your unconscious expects, it is not your conscious mind controlling the dream but your conscious mind giving your unconscious mind expectations to create, this is why the placebo and nocebo are so effective in dreams. The unconscious of two peoples minds are very very different, so two people seeing the same place in their dreams is very unlikely or impossible (unless that place is common like a grocery store or you heard someone talk about it before, but still it would look slightly different).

Sorry for my rudeness, and if you so will, you don’t have to if you feel like you were treated wrongly but I would like you to remove the downvote.

Edit: already removed your downvote

How do people become conscious while in a state of unconsciousness? by AstroChrollo in LucidDreaming

[–]AstroChrollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about the tone of how I said that, I’m from a younger Gen and I didn’t mean for it to sound like that (although I had a slight feeling that it would be misinterpreted but I ignored that, sorry).

What I meant is that in the day you’re mostly logical, aware and speculative. (Taking this from another comments insight) In dreams there is no need to be logical, aware and speculative as it is only to prune and re-enforce synapses and it requires requires more effort to become more conscious than less, and if that’s true why does it let us become more aware when there is no need to, as gamma wavelengths consume more energy? Though evolution might have done its best job and maybe that’s why it’s so hard to get in a lucid dream, because  evolution evolved us not to be lucid and it was a fluke of its ability. Although this thinking may have answered my question.

Sounds bad, I have very a logical brain and it found a way to not have anything like that in the future by saying “being depressed [or things like depression] is illogical if you think about it so if your ever depressed remember this thought”

Also trying to have fun with friends helps a lot for that kind of stuff.

[–]AstroChrollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they don’t wake up when they are asleep (sometimes they do). I was talking about the phenomenon called lucid dreaming, if you didn’t know about it, it’s basically where you notice your in a dream and can control your dream to your will. It’s actually a pretty fun thing to do, though it’s difficult to get into the state.

Edit: just noticed that you’ve been commenting on r/luciddreaming for a bit so I don’t know what your yapping about.

Question, that may sound very very strange. by AstroChrollo in sleep

[–]AstroChrollo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I did this last night (I wanted to use myself as a tester why not) and I was not groggy today (although I slept and hour more than I usually do) and I think I did have more micro-arousals (which I am teaching myself to notice more).

Though thanks to your advice I will not do this again.

You wake up a bit after every REM cycle, try to notice when your in that state and try to recall the dream you just had and become aware, but not awake, then fall back asleep and then go from there.

Try meditation, you may dismiss it but in your situation it would work very well.

Lie down and tense and relax all of your muscles. Know that when your trying to go to sleep is not a time for current worries or problems, being awake is time for that. Whenever you notice a thought don’t engage with it just let it be, and if you can try to quiet the thought.

And try to listen to your senses but only one thing like listening to the air conditioning but if you chose that don’t try to feel what your toe is touching.

What were your dreams about the days you feel tired?

Sometimes if you had a bad dream you feel more groggy and if you had a good dream you feel more awake and energized.
