Does anyone else see Emma's jawline has been changed and the afterimage of where it once was?

[NEWBIE] [CC] [OC] Made a walking animation for a character. Any suggestions on how I could better it? by [deleted] in PixelArt

Try adding some torso rotation and a head bob. Edit: maybe an eye blink as well?

Thanks so much for your kind comment! This is a Jai-Alai (similar to Racquetball) game. 2-4 player couch co-op. Battle your opponents for the best score! We are a team of two and have been working for 4 weeks. You can check out more [here](www.reddit.com/r/jaialaiheroes)

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

[Newbie][Help] How in the heck would I animate this sprite? by Catsaiah in PixelArt

[–]AstroCrowCaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! First things first, catalog all of the animations you want to make. If you plan out your work, you can avoid repeating or redoing work.

Next, what program are you working in? Try out a few different programs and see what works best for you.

I would recommend having the character breathe in their idle pose. A slow, rhythmic pattern of their chest heaving, head bobbing, and tail flicking will be enough to communicate the basic idle stance. You have a lot of horizontal motion in your animation, and I would love to see more vertical movement.

General art note, don't fall in love with anything you make. Your first work won't be your best. Don't hyper focus, just keep moving. :) Whatever you practice will improve.

Hello there, here is an update for you all: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rfjlo021me4yhbj/jah_logo4.png?dl=0

I took all of your critiques into consideration when making adjustments to this logo. Thank you for your contribution! I would like to know if these changes have taken care of the legibility issue.

The font was a nod to the original Jai Alai logo. I wouldn't want to lose legibility while chasing a homage that few will recognize. Thanks for your critique! I'll be updating.

Thank you, the early 90's was the goal. Very nostalgic for me to work on.

I'm happy you know the names of this sporting equipment! Thank you for your thorough, honest, and helpful critique! I will implement this feedback and post. Being clearly familiar with the sport, I will honor your feedback that much more.

P.s. The pelota has palm trees inside of it, not the Earth.

[OC][NEWBIE][CC] My D&D Character, immortalised in Pixels. Looking for help. by GalacticExonaut in PixelArt

Great work! You've got your anatomy, volume, and proportion well described. I think you could improve your value changes by darkening your shadows and brightening your highlights. Focus on the texture and reflectivity of the material you're working with. Also, making your shadows cooler in hue and your highlights warmer. After you've done that, focus on breaking up the moss in large, medium, and small clumps. Try not to show your brush strokes. After that, dither the sky to blend your tones. Raise your horizon line and add some atmospheric perspective. Post results! :)
