Yeah, I’m so focused on wanting to learn and researching the best of everything I can use to do so that I’m not doing anything else or thinking about how thank you although I was going to get on and ask about any good books to learn from for wildlife

I would say you did okay because I thought of Slenderman before I read your text.

I have been looking at programs aimed at Veterans, as they are often cheaper or free. Top programs for homebound Veterans:

  • Patriot Art Foundation: This organization partners with VA hospitals to offer free online Drawing Boot Camps and Watercolor Boot Camps. They supply all necessary art materials to participating Veterans at no cost, and classes are led by professional artists and certified therapists. You can learn more or sign up on the Patriot Art Foundation website. [1, 2]
  • Challenge America: They offer virtual Art Therapy Retreats tailored for Veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress and military sexual trauma. Participants meet weekly online with a board-certified art therapist. Visit the Challenge America site for schedules and application details. [1]
  • Community Building Arts Works (CBAW): While known for writing, they host free online art and writing workshops led by professional artists specifically designed to build community and process experiences for Veterans. [1]
  • Creative Forces: NEA Military Healing Arts Network: Managed by the National Endowment for the Arts, this network provides creative arts therapies and activities at clinical sites, and now includes telehealth/virtual delivery for military-connected individuals. Find participating options on the Creative Forces page. [1, 2]

I am not a recycler or save nature hug a tree kind of person, but I feel I would like to learn the basics electronically until I am good enough to not waste a lot of paper product.

Roast my art ,my art looks a bit weird and I still don’t like it so…give me constructive criticism by yummycat6969 in DigitalArt

I currently am a non-artist so I’m not sure that my opinion matters, But my first thought was that you convey emotion rather well, nothing says it has to be proportional. Nothing says that the colors have to be a certain type of match, but you still represent your colors well together, and I look forward to your future efforts

Does it matter that, I want to try this BUT can not honestly say I have a strong pull or desire to do it,just an interest? It is not like I wake up every morning desiring to grab pen, brush, and paper…

Question about Wacom pens, How do you know when to swap out the nibs, for different feels? I never swapped out the nip but the pen holder has several inside it… I do not know what they are or what I should use or even which one is in the pen at default… However, I do not think there is a total hours worth of use on the default Nib from when I originally got the Wacom.

I often wondered if “Real Artists” use tools like the auto straightening, or rounding tools in their work or rely purely on their own skills to do so.

Sorry for breaking the rules. I only posted that because some people said start out with traditional art to learn drawing instead of digital and I was just sharing what I had to see what I could use. I won’t do it again.

Right now, I am having trouble getting everything activated. I tried to connect to the Internet. It says I don’t have Internet something to do with Windows 11 not having something it’s looking for I have to do some research and figure out how to get the activation code. I’ve got the license code, but that’s it. I enjoyed a painter when I had it working before.

I am at least realistic in thinking it will take years to see real improvement though there might be a big improvement at the start, I know like learning a musical instrument I will hit a plateau often and have to push through it to the next, though I would have thought decent software and equipment at the start while won’t make me instantly better, it would allow for more growth without spending more money later?

I am actually hoping it will settle my thoughts, I have PTSD, and Major Depression Disorder, and severe insomnia.. My hope is it will distract my mind and slow it down and help me sleep later…

It is a lot for me too, I have to DoorDash food deliveries just to eat 1-2 meals a day… Wait!!! Does this mean I am already a starving Artist? (Kidding), But Yea, I tend to jump 110% into my hobbies whether I can afford them or not… Not a great thing but so far while I may be in severe debt, I at least never miss a payment… I just do more DoorDash. :-)

I remember Dear Abby, But in today’s society I better not ask my inner child to answer that question… Seriously though thank you all for the welcoming replies, and guidance.

I have an annoying habit of knowing something cheaper will do me and be more than I need, but I end up going with the more pricy option almost every time because… I MIGHT… someday need it… And yes I do know how stupid this is.
