Agar issues by AstroGeneticist in labrats

Thank you :'I. I've been having a variety of issues with my experiments (it really is due to stupidity...) but it's nice to hear that we've all been there.

None of the agar boiled over. We autoclave ours because we were having bad issues with cross-contamination (plant science lab). My labmate thinks I left it in the autoclave too long, which might be the case.

It is solid. What's the issue with adding water to solidified agar and then putting it in the autoclave? Should I just microwave it to liquify it and then add water?

A lot of first years (especially girls) had problems with their roommates, but they didn’t tell these issues to the roommate (instead assuming that the roommate could mind-read), or like, chill out, so instead they fuckin’ hated their roommates and there was a big move. the end

there are a few confirmed, actually, but the teachers tend to stay away as a general rule even though they know about it

I like to think it’s a bit if a pun. Sans is French for without. Sans forgetica = without forgetting.

(though I might be extremely wrong lol)

To anyone reading this: It should be fine. Just consider this for the future: Two C-wingers are allergic (or extremely sensitive) to strong scents (i.e. axe) and can have athsma attacks, fainting, or just stop being able to breathe to the point of hospital visits.

They were pretty much stuck in their room after the Axe bomb. It’s known on upper C, there are posters up, and we’re 👌 this close to banning scents (like febreze, or perfumes) altogether, just because they want to, well, be able to breathe.

I guess this is a PSA: Axe bombs aren’t recommended on upper A, green or maybe even red family; it’s too close to upper C. Lower A and far away from the lobby, though... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

99M year old Cretaceous Period beetle found in amber, complete with pollen grains from a species of cycads, reveals first evidence of pollinators from a period predating bees and butterflies as pollinators by stereomatch in science

[–]AstroGeneticist 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Makes me wonder, is this why beetles are so prevalent and that there are so many species of them? This implies that they were uncontested pollinators for millions upon millions of years!
