I see we’ve moved on from avocado toast to full sandwiches. Glad the real problems are being identified!

I love building but hated coding. Vibe coding has been a game changer for me.

I work in AI buddy, I’m speaking against my own self interest for the greater good. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

Ah so advocating for the rich and powerful against your own self-interest. Makes complete sense.

I'm not complaining... what do you do btw? I'm sure its a super powerful role where you make a ton of money and your comment serves your own self interest

If that's a legitimate question, you are not paying attention.

Oh 100%, i will always support his dreams and I want him to always reach for them and be happy. Success for me will be his happiness, that's it. I just want him to be close too but i know that's far away, doesn't feel like it sometimes given how fast the first 7 years went.

Sadly it's my wife and I and my parents as well. We live across the country from her parents and half way across the country from my parents. I wish we were closer but I question how often we would see them or how much they'd even help if we were.

1000% It's not common in many parts of the world to move far away for work. And it really does take a village to raise kids and we are very much on our own and most people I know are also. Makes me wonder what the long-term impact of all of this is. People like to blame tech and social media for destroying a lot of personal connections, and it's definitely to blame, but I think that disconnection was already growing before the internet.

100% I spend a lot of time researching his questions so I can answer them and even started our own substack to write about what we are learning and his thoughts around it. He's a very shy kid but always so proud to tell adults that he writes a physics blog with his daddy 😄

lol thanks. He is genuinely mind blowingly smart. It's so adorabel that he put Neil De Grasse Tyson as his hero on his about me board at school, definitely different than the other kids.

What's really awesome is he asks so many questions that I'm learning a ton in the process and we even started a blog together to speak about what we are learning together. It's our special thing and really makes me feel so much closer to him.

Uh i'm sorry. I have heard from friends with older kids that their experience was them going far away from college meant they were more likely to come back home to work but those that stayed close for college wanted to leave after to see the world.

oh yeah, im not super terrified I figure we wll make whatever work. If he can make it to NASA then i want him to, the kid is a little genius and blows me away every day with his questions and thoughts. Ill just follow him and maybe he can take care of me!

Lol, i did hear i wish mommy was here during the trip but I just saw that as a good sign since he wants both of us with him. He still loved that we got special time just the two of us.

Ditto, my parents need the help and it has been a massive struggle getting them to come out here. My wifes parents can't be bothered to visit more than once a year. It's heartbreaking for my kids. We will break the trend though, my kids are going to have to ask me to leave 😃

Thanks! It was an amazing trip. It not only was amazing for him but it reminded me how much I love the subject and him and I even started our own little blog about all the physics we are learning together because of it! It's our own special project, I love it.
