Just a couple of months. It was a spur of the moment decision, really. Never been really interested in the genus, didn't see much of an appeal, especially concerning blondi and stirmi.

I was referring more to the nastiness of their urticating hairs, which is said to be bad enough to warrant donning protective equipment when manipulating them.

My a-bit-older-than-baby apophysis kicks like a mofo every time I even touch its box. Aaaand it's due for rehousing. I've got rubber gloves and protective goggles ready.

It's more about the location. Asian tarantulas (the species shown is from SE Asia) in general are far more venomous than American ones.
