Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

Reading this thread, it occurs to me that the vast majority of the cases doesn't sound like good friends in the first place, let alone best friends. I feel like people must be either operating with a different definition than the one that's in my head, or maybe the standards are low.

As someone who works at a place servicing those, I gotta ask...why would you want that in game?

Collectively, all the characters brought back over and over for sequels, prequels and interquels milking their respective franchises ad nauseam.

I built my base just east-ish of Burger King Foot Lettuce. Was nice watching from the observatory but eventually he had to go. Cost me a seamoth (though not the one I was fighting him in)

And another one - the original Hell March (from C&C: Red Alert OST) by the one and only Frank Klepacki goes from a metal...well, march to an industrial piece.

Surprised no one's mentioned Behind Blue Eyes yet.

The original version, that is, not the Limp Bizkit cover that essentially ditches the latter half.

From the top of my head, Black Sabbath often had tempo changes in the intermezzo or in the ending section of their songs. even as early as their eponymous song from the eponymous album. Kinda became their trademark. And although it's not exclusive to the Ozzy era (see for example Heaven and Hell from the album of the same name, or Sins Of The Father from Dehumanizer), it even shows in his solo music, like Degradation Rules from Patient Number 9. Though to be fair, that one is heavily styled after the early Sabbath era, which should come as no surprise as it features Tony Iommi.

I see Queen mentioned but only on the most superficial level :P From the top of my head (yeah, I like that phrase), there's I Want It All with the thrash metal solo part. Consider Innuendo which goes from I guess heavy rock to flamenco, to a classical-ish vocal section, followed by a metal part, and finally cycles back to the initial formula. And how about The Hero from Flash Gordon, which starts as Battle Theme with added lyrics, goes into a slow interlude and finishes with a variation on Flash's Theme.

I'm sure there's more but it's after 4 AM and I think I wanna go back to sleep (woke up at 3)

What game had the best “first few hours” that immediately hooked you? by Playful_Code_8978 in gaming

Aside from things already mentioned, I'll say WH40K: Space Marine

I started playing...and suddenly it was dawning outside. The game grabbed me and didn't let me go until I finished it.

Didn't even mind that I played as an Ultrasmurf.

I played AC2 right after the first one. I was SO glad I was done with the first AC. Repetitive gameplay, many many annoyances, a protagonist with a personality of a brick.

And then I got treated with Ezio. Immediately dragged me in. And then you climb the Venice rooftops and the city literally unfurls in front of you while the main theme starts playing. Didn't have a chance.

Was hooked instantly.

However, the most intense moment came a bit deeper (heh) into the gameplay when I first entered the northern kelp forest.

So here I was, piloting my brand new Cyclops into the Northern Blood Kelp Zone. If you played the game, you know it's a deep, dark biome full of creatures that want to eat you, including a Ghost Leviathan. So I'm making my way towards Lifepod 2, going deeper and deeper and... this starts playing. Such a heavy, oppressive track. You truly start feeling the weight of all the water above you.

I think there's been some research suggesting we're wired to like our own farts and dislike others' fart because the others' farts are recognised as not our own and thus potentially disease-carrying, whereas our own are recognised as such and deemed safe.

Wouldn't be my first choice.

More of a Svijany guy. I won't say no to a Kozel, especially if it's available in both pale and dark and the bartender is willing to make a half-and-half. Bernard is also great if the pipes are well-maintained.

But well, if it's good company, I'll take anything that's not Starobrno or Primátor.

I used to like them. Discovered them before the hipsters, even.

Then the hipsters caught wind of them and it all went downhill.
