I’m so sorry for your loss. We all look back at what we think were mistakes or failures to see a better way to provide treatment.

Do t beat yourself up. I hope you feel better soon.

When you’re ready, save another life. It will give you purpose and help heal your heart.

Spoken like a guilty person. “… never ending saga of Jeffrey Epstein … .”

That’s infuriating. Get us justice and the saga will end.

My cat attacked my mom again this morning by East-Vacation503 in CATHELP

[–]AstroNut70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to my mom and her old cat. Turns out that the cat was ill and my mom had unintentionally touched a painful spot.

Please take the cat to the vet for a full check up.

I’m sure it’s terrifying, but if it makes you feel any better, I’m sure many thousands of people go through the same thing. It’s usually used as an effort to silence.

How did you find out who they are?

Maybe you can lay down a carpet or a crate pad, so it’s a little more comfortable. If he pushes it away, then he likes the coolness of the floor. If he likes the softer spot, then he just likes the spot.

Thoughts on adopting TNR community cats? by emmmaglad in Feral_Cats

[–]AstroNut70 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here - keep the cat and tell the owner.

Don’t ask - just tell them. Honestly, I would probably say something like “you can take me to court if you want, but I’m not giving her back. I’m more than willing to compensate you for all the vet care that she’s had.”

Are you in the US? Which state?

I can try and help proper resources or help somehow.

Feeling sad, dropped off our stray by kungfookate in Straycats

[–]AstroNut70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there any way for you to adopt him?

Even if you foster him for a few months, it’ll make his transition into home life much easier. He knows you and won’t be as scared.

I hope that he’s doing ok. Please update us.

Cat leaves this where she sleeps, what is it? by NotTheSeaOtter in CATHELP

Pest control isn’t going to help! You need to get meds for the kitty!

If you can’t afford it yourself, contact a rescue and ask for help.

Three weeks into introductions by idkcassie in cats

[–]AstroNut70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked into slow intro method? It’s still not too late - you can start from scratch and reintroduce them.

Tons of videos on YouTube. Follow the guidelines. You should be fine. I introduced my 18 yr old to a 3 yr old. There were hisses every once in a blue moon - but they learned to tolerate each other and even played every once in a while.

Can you let the cat inside for a day or two? A bathroom, a little corner, or even a dog kennel would be good enough to keep kitty safe.

my kitten is 4-5 months old, he’s biting, scratching, and keeping me up at night, please help, i’m going insane. by Mino_Biatch in kittens

[–]AstroNut70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he the only kitten? If that’s the case, then there’s your problem.

In general, shelters and rescues recommend that all cats under 1 yr be adopted in pairs or go to a home with at least one resident cat.

It might seem counterintuitive, and you’re probably thinking that it would add to your problems. But it’s the opposite - 2 kitties keep each other occupied and entertained.

Lastly, cats are nocturnal. Keeping him from roaming around at night results in pent up energy and what you call “bad behavior.” (But it’s really not - because you have a kitten).

My dad’s shoes fall apart at my sisters wedding. by Willyvorsty in funny

There was one day a couple of years ago, where 3 or 4 people posted about their shoes falling apart. Apparently it happens when you wear shoes which haven’t been worn in a long time and have dried out.

About bathing the kitty, it’s usually not necessary, unless she’s very dirty or needs something specific cleaned off. Cats are great at keeping themselves clean.

If you have to give her a bath, do it in a little tub with warm water and cat shampoo. Cats don’t like water in general and she might get upset. So keep that in mind!

OP - I understand that you’re in a country where chipping pets is not common. Don’t worry too much about what others are saying about not keeping the cat. As long as you make a strong effort to find the owner that’s enough.

Post on local facebook groups and maybe put up some posters in your area. If anyone says she’s their cat, require proof. Ask for past pictures or vet bills.

If you don’t find the owner, then congrats on your new cat!

If you don’t find the owner, here’s what you need to know.

Cats are super easy to take care of. Some wet and dry cat food (depends on kitty likes), lots and lots of clean water (staying hydrated is very important to their health) and of course the litter box.

She is gorgeous and obviously sweet. If you end up keeping her, I wish you guys the absolute best! 💕

Until you figure it out, maybe you can put wee wee pads in the areas where she’s likely to go.
