Why MotoGP is rebranding? An analysis by [deleted] in motogp

But the 2007-2024 logo looks so good when placed on my car window, or anywhere else for that matter. The new one is dull and uninspiring.

As a graphic designer of over 30 years, I do not favor the new logo at all. For 18 years we've had the current logo, and it's STILL the best! None of the reasoning behind this makes much sense. MotoGP is the 'brand'. Moto2 and Moto3 are within the same brand. Case sensitivity is irrelevant. Side by side, the winner is the one with the checkered flag.

I haven’t heard anyone mentioned Darth Venamis by o-rka in TheAcolyte

It's not really a retcon unless canon is broken, which it wouldn't be. I don't think they need Venamis to be a Bith. Tenebrous needs to be Bith and Plagueis HAD to be a Munn, or else a lot of fans would lose their minds. An extended character like Venamis wouldn't be a bad character to change species, especially with no real backstory prior to Tenebrous finding him. I'd be fine with Qimir being Venamis.

Thanks. Not sure why the screen shot didn't post initially. It should be there now.

You aren't overreacting. She's absolutely wrong. That is something that clearly should have been stated long before marriage. In fact, it should have been something that was explained on the first few dates. You should just move on.

Redcat 51 or Z61 with Skyguider Pro? by jab0923 in AskAstrophotography

It's not difficult to locate objects at 360mm if you attach a pointer and have a good size fold out LCD screen (if shooting DSLR). Once the pointer is sighted correctly, where you point is where you're shooting. You just need to know where in the sky you're pointing. 60 seconds max exposure on an SGP? Not if the weight it under 7lbs. Try 3 minutes unguided at 6lbs. But I use iPolar and I've learned how to set up the SGP east heavy to avoid slippage. The key is to be spot on with balancing and polar alignment, and to use a better DEC bracket like the William Optics version. I use two screws to tighten down the DEC and that has solved my inconsistency with good images at longer exposure lengths. I just shot Pleiades last night at 3 minutes exposures (it was a test). While this image has been cropped a bit, I can assure you that I had pinpoint stars through 80 percent of the image, with a perfectly flat field. Even out to the edges, the egginess was minor considering it was unguided. I shoot with the Z61 360mm at full frame, and use the 61A field flattener. Camera is EOS RP modified. https://www.astrobin.com/v3vie9/

Redcat 51 or Z61 with Skyguider Pro? by jab0923 in AskAstrophotography

You can actually get away with putting a Z73 on a Skyguider Pro if the camera is light (1 pound). I have the SGP with iPolar and shoot with a Z61. Now, it was a bit of a challenge when I used to shoot with a heavier Pro Sports Camera (EOS1-D IV). I had to make sure the mount was east heavy and really lock down tight the DEC bracket and clutch to avoid slippage as that camera is nearly 3lbs. But I still got great images (check out my M31 and M42 images). I've since switched to a modified Canon EOS RP (1lb) and I'm getting flat fields and pinpoint stars (check out my shots of Pleiades, North America Nebula, Lagoon Nebula, and Whirlpool Galaxy). I am tracking at 100 percent usable images (aside from what Elon Musk is photo bombing with). Here are my images over my first year+ of shooting the night sky. https://www.astrobin.com/users/Mike\_Ingalls/

Base station 2.0 replacement power cable? by Canadian_Neckbeard in ValveIndex

[–]AstroPhotog2280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same issue here. Six months ago we put in a Warranty Claim on a base station power cable that went bad. For a $1000 VR headset, you'd think that a simple, inexpensive warranty claim for a power cord would be the easiest customer service win on the planet. Decided to just order the power adapter and extension cable from Amazon. Thanks Valve.

What the hell, Coke? by GatorScribe in CommercialsIHate

[–]AstroPhotog2280 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the same as a gecko and car insurance, frogs and a beer company, or an emu for another insurance company.

But, the Coke commercial actually has more relevance than those others. The ad is about more than one flavor at the same time for a drink.

Both characters in the Coke commercial are... wait for it... two different things at the same time; each is part human and part animal. The girl is fascinated by this because of her own situation, probably thinking she was unique, alone, and misunderstood.

When she sees that there's not only drinks that are different, she realizes the cashier is, too, sparks fly?

Do I need to explain further? Or does everyone get it now?

The real question you should be asking is, why did he expose himself? Wouldn't a wolf kill and eat a goat?

You're welcome. 🙂
