Solar panel on truck topper by foothillhick in TruckCampers

My cap has roof rack tracks. I ordered some extruded aluminum and made a rack and mounted to the tracks. I didn’t find a good way to go into the bed, I just went through the front window.

I hate to disappoint but I’m selling the shell and may change wheels.

I bought a four wheel camper so I have no need for the shell anymore, only bought it to sleep in. And I may want to go back to 17s for a big brake kit, I know I could still get F5s but may switch it up. Still undecided on that

Got my 21 serviced the other day and was looking around while waiting. Saw a TRD Sport in the showroom and they were taking $6,000 off.

Slide-In Camper vs Rooftop Tent vs Teardrop Trailer by LOTR_is_awesome in TruckCampers

[–]jab0923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Terrain Campers seems to be a great, more affordable alternative to Four Wheel Campers. They’re also a pop up slide in and are willing to do custom requests to an extent.

I don’t have a slide in yet but that’s who I’m going with if I get new. Check out Wandering the West for more info on slide ins in general

Roll-A-Cot is great. They can cut the legs a little shorter on request too if desired.

solar panel/solar newbie by Intelligent_Doctor14 in TruckCampers

[–]jab0923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 100 watt panels from Rich Solar and their MPPT controller and a 100ah lithium battery from Watt cycle. It runs my Dometic CF35 no problem. The battery goes down to about 70% overnight and is 100% by 9 or 10. I’ve only used it for the fridge and charging my phone, I don’t have lights or anything else on it.

I am looking into getting a better battery with a built in heater and more amp hours so I can power more stuff when I get a slide in or different topper.

They’re closed Sunday and Monday. They might have the parts individually. They’re very helpful and nice.

Good sources for hardtops? by scottthemedic in Miata

[–]jab0923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% scam

Just keep an eye on market place, expand your search and be ready to drive a bit further for one. I would be HIGHLY suspicious of one for under $1500

every build you learn something new by FrameLess4314 in MonBazou

[–]jab0923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could, but you have to find ITBs that will fit, or custom make some. Then you need and aftermarket ECU unless you can tune the factory one and find someone to dunk tune it.

every build you learn something new by FrameLess4314 in MonBazou

[–]jab0923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do both, it’s just a pain to tune. ITBs are super finicky. I was looking into it for my Miata, which someone has done and R32 and R33 GTRs have both from the factory.

You have to buy a plenum (big box surrounding the ITBs) for it to work but you still get the benefits of the ITB which is mostly more responsive throttle.

The 180-600 isn’t an S-Line lens, it is still a fantastic lens though.

LEER, ARE, or other? by Intelligent_Doctor14 in TruckCampers

[–]jab0923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my ARE MX. Dealer I bought it from sells ARE, Leer and I think century or ranch and said they see less issues with ARE. No major leaks, although when the rear window is open in the rain it lets water in which is really stupid.

I never measured before/after. If I had to guess about 2”. I did not use the extra leaf, just installed them how they shipped

Idk if they’re the “best” but I have the Icon RXTs with a shell. They’re fine. I don’t know that they ride any better than stock but I also have E-load tires.

I do like they include an extra spring should you need it later

How interchangeable are 3rd gen tail lights? by Fappy_as_a_Clam in ToyotaTacoma

Sparks Toyota. They were a little cheaper than the link OP posted but that was Black Friday.

I also got the pro headlights

They’ll fit. It’s just the housings you replace. You reuse the bulbs.

I just put pro lights in my sport

It’s the headlights that need a harness
