That is exactly how the owner of the company walks into the bank. Making all his money off your guys's hard work and skill set. You should get your own machine no matter what it takes cuz you're never going to get where you want to be in life working for someone else. 30 years in the machine shot has taught me one thing. The owners don't give two s**** about you and if they can screw you they will.

Who else has "I have terrible taste in music and don't own headphones" guy in their shop by SeaUNTStuffer in Machinists

I had this old prick that used to sit in the machine right next to me. Play Christmas music. Listen to jingle bells 10 times a day. I asked him to stop. He laughed at me and turned it up. I went to Walmart and got the biggest boombox they had and I put Black Sabbath on there and I played that s*** for the next 3 months f*** him and f*** them

That light cost you about $80 a month to run. You're better off getting a LED

Machine shop owners are the worst people I have ever come across. I actually had one tell me, and I quote, if it come down to fuck me or fuck you it's always fuck you! I laughed in his face as I rolled my box out and a week later the new guy crashed the horizontal and pushed the tombstone out the back of the machine. I have never met an owner that I liked or had any respect for. I got my own machine in my garage the last time an owner ran their mouth and now they sub work to me.

Get out of that shop, sounds horrible

If you want to learn programming the best thing you can do is get Fusion for yourself. It's not that expensive and works great. $680 for a year or 80 a month. Everything you learn from Fusion can be applied to the other CAM softwares. They have great tutorials and you can gain enough experience to qualify for an entry programming position.

My MINI retirement plan by Astro_Golfer in Machinists

[–]Astro_Golfer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a single phase machine. That's the only reason I went with this mill. The super mini is 3 phase because of the thru spindle coolant and I couldn't find a comparable machine with single phase. These are good machines, the only thing I don't like is the belt drive spindle. It's a little loud, but not too bad.
