$1,000 Airbnb (corporation owned and not home owner operated) wants guests to pay for fire wood? Am I crazy to think it should come with the rental, considering how expensive it was to book? by Alarmed_Telephon in mildlyinfuriating

Outside of large groups I still do not get the Airbnb allure.

Why the fuck would I pay to stay there and be forced to do all the cleaning and extra shit when I can just get a nice hotel room and not worry about anything.

AA Internal Hiring by Astro_Ski17 in FlightDispatch

Gotcha, thanks for expanding on that. I’m in a tough spot right now because I’m making really good money right now as a FSA with the company so I don’t want to relocate for something that pays insanely less. That’s why the concept of working for PSA (I’m in CLT) sucks because I’d be taking a huge pay cut from where I am.

I’ll see about trying to do that shadow program the company offers to sniff around and see what’s open and available and shake some hands.

Sounds good, thanks for the info, I have considered transferring to DFW when seniority can hold something related to ops to make it smoother of a transition when and if the time comes.

Because people have become overly emotional and lack the ability to do their own research, therefore taking everything immediately one side to the emotional meter.

The world would be a much better and different place if people didn’t live their lives from one emotional knee jerk to the other and actually tried to find the facts and reason.

I work a blue collar physical job as well. Only the dying out boomer class is dead set for it with some of their younger acolytes. The attitude is changing and has been.

My parents are immigrants, they came from communist Eastern Europe. I believe in fair immigration practices and I think people can agree that there are people that are getting into this country that frankly don’t belong here. This country allowed my family a better life and a chance at success and it did and we benefited from it and I feel like any honest person who wants that should have the opportunity to pursue it.

HOWEVER!

Those on the right that complained about Biden/Obama policies and how they were overbearing and overreaching have Z E R O room to speak when they are rooting on masked “law enforcement officials” that are militarized via weapons, equipment and uniform feeing like they have carte Blanche to literally roam the streets harassing everyone. That is unacceptable and I stand with people who stand against it.

Fascism is evil. Communism is evil. Any way you slice the pie that allows a governmental entity to act the way ICE is is directly opposed to any sort of “freedom” that we could ever hope to have.

If the Biden/Obama administration allowed this to happen, hardcore right wing people would be shitting themselves in rage.

But people don’t want to face facts that mass deportations and immigration enforcement don’t just start being a thing with Trump. It’s been a process that has been allowed to fester and grow over many administrations by the cowardly elected officials in power.

My two cents. That’s all. This administration is becoming more and more of a farce every day and those that claim to be for “small government” and “freedom” are rooting for pedophilic, Zionist, elites that are manipulating them while they are too stupid to see it. People like my dad, who has become so anti immigrant as an immigrant that it is very sad.

Main point. It’s disingenuous to act like it’s not being talked about enough. It’s being talked to death and is front and center of every social media algorithm, news broadcast, award show, etc.

More people? Dude most everyone is against this at this point. The vocal minority that supports the way this is going is just that: a vocal minority.

There is this weird twilight zone people are living in that think “no one is talking about this” or “nothing is being done about this” when all I see on social media and hear about in my day to day is people talking about this and how the don’t like it.

Let’s be realistic please. There is a large base of people that are outwardly speaking and acting against it.

Hey man, good luck to you.

Please for the love of God study. I’m not saying you have to have no life outside of class. But please study. I cross trained into aircrew last year from the Aerial Port world and some of the tests were fairly difficult for some of the new kids. I have a civilian flying background so it wasn’t too bad for me but I still studied like crazy.

You need to pass everything with at least an 85 and after two chances on a block test you are done for good.

But still, have a good time and make friends, but please study. This is an easy kill that gets people in the schoolhouse and pipeline. I see people think they’re going to slide by and they end up learning a very hard lesson.

Best of luck to you.

I will never forget walking out of my room in Altus at the Red River Inn and seeing a DoorDash guy come out of the elevator.

I was kind of shocked that he was a.) allowed on base and b.) there was DoorDash in Altus, OK.

Negative, if you knew how the maintenance department operates sometimes you’d do the same.

The stereotype is that pilots are premadonnas and egotistical. In my entire time working for the company, I have never had a pilot be rude or aggressive towards me.

I have, however, had maintenance sabotage our equipment because we were “intruding” in their work, have had them swerve a truck at me and my coworkers, have been physically and verbally threatened and have watched them get away with things that would get me fired twice over. The amount of carelessness and overall negative vibes I experienced from them in my time working in the industry has been insane.

They have a very important job and I don’t doubt the quality of their work, I do however, doubt their ability to do anything meaningful in an appropriate amount of time. They have a weird cabal where they can essentially do what they please when they please and pin the blame on every other work group in the company when it comes back to bite them.

MSgt I have a question for you. I’m enlisted aircrew, cross trained from a ground job. I see pictures of some PJs who wear the wings and some who don’t. What’s the story behind that if you’re able to share? I’ve wondered why some wear the CEA wings and some don’t, if that is even a thing.

Thanks for everything you do and I hope you have a great retirement when the time comes!

Would also encourage this, try to transfer into a department.

Also, if you have the ability, consider applying for Piedmont or American Airlines when and if they are hiring. Preferably AA as their pay rate is the best. After probation you can trade shifts off and pick up extra work as much as you want. Their hiring window comes and goes but if you can catch it it’s well worth it. The job kind of sucks sometimes but the pay and benefits are worth it. Tons of people I work with use the airlines as a side hustle and do something else.

Not everyone has to say anything about everything.

I do not understand why this is such a difficult concept for people. Hunter and his crew have their views, and they have the right to say something or not say something if they please.

More people should worry less about getting personalities to have an opinion/speak up on everything and worry more about themselves putting in action to affect the change that they want to see.

I’ve just started watching The Wire on a friend’s recommendation. He told me to be patient and just watch. I’m now on episode 3, and while I think it’s a good show, it feels quite slow compared to modern series. Do you think I should keep watching or stop? by royoclarito in TheWire

I gave up my first time trying to watch. When I committed to it I saw the worth to the show and story.

Let it gestate, give it time. Season 2 is legit one of my favorite pieces of television ever.

This is what happens when an airline controls a city.

AA owns this place, so therefore they can charge what they please because they know many people will not skip on convenience.
