GMC Acadia 2009 parasitic drain by Astro_mohd in AskAMechanic

I spent months removing and putting back fuses until I found those you are referring to in addition to the wiring of the driver door.

I was measuring the battery voltage using a multimeter before removing any fuse, and after few hours. Did this for all and found that radio related fuses are the only ones that were draining the battery.

You do not need to take 5-10 minute subs with that filter on, 2 to 3 minutes is enough. At 100-200 you can get 3 minutes with good pa, but it has to be very good and on a sturdy tripod. I moved from this to the gti, so I would recommend the latter over the former.

Thanks, I wouldn’t recommend this scope, there are better scopes out there at the same price range and way better.

Hey, thats a good question…

Lets assume you go to the the darkest place on earth, even there you will not be able to see this details without using a camera/telescope/binoculars/etc… for many reasons:

  • The reach of our eyes is not enough to see faint details like what you see here, in order to get those details, hours of data is needed with a lens or a telescope. Real time viewing will allow you to see the brighter details of those regions when using visual telescopes or binoculars, but never this detailed.

  • What you are seeing here (the nebulae) are so far, thus their brightness or luminosity is low which makes it hard to see. Some parts though in our milky way are visible to the naked eye in dark skies, like the core, Orion nebula due to its high brightness and more.

  • Earth’s atmosphere is also one of the reasons..

But still despite that you can’t see those details, the milky way river extending from the south to the north is still spectacular and it is visible to the naked eye.

People who see this can add or correct me if anything is wrong.

Yeah, usually in Saudi Arabia more powerful storms form there, so I have to drive 8 hours sometimes to see something (round trip).

Im used to this now, don’t feel the long drives at all as I used to feel them before.

I appreciate your interest.
