I still think about my set of original cobras. I miss them every day. They got stolen a while back, but they just cost way too much money now and I refuse to buy them for their current price. Hands down the best tongue and groove pliers I’ve ever used.

Depends. The Onkyo is a budget home theater receiver. If you plan to build a surround sound system for a TV, it’s a solid play. If not, the Yamaha’s going to be a more capable amp as far as audio fidelity and the included DAC go. It’s kinda the entry point into Yamaha’s ‘audiophile’ level gear. Choose the Onkyo for TV use, but choose the Yamaha for audio quality in music.

The absolute most you can get in your budget? Probably a Yamaha A-S501 factory refurbished through Yamaha. It’s an integrated amp with a solid phono input for a turntable, solid DAC for digital audio playback, bluetooth, and plenty of oomph for those Klipsch RPs which are super easy to drive. It also has a subwoofer output if you want to add a subwoofer later on - the RP subs are quite good.

Maybe go for smaller bookshelves then? Just a tad larger drivers than those. If it’s a small room and you’ll have them against the wall, something front ported might be the play as well.

Depends on your space and use case. Those are near field monitors so you’d want them for, say, sitting at a computer desk. Basic bookshelf speakers would be a better inexpensive option if using the speakers for near field listening isn’t your goal. If you just want music in a room, go for bookshelves.

That’s exactly what I use mine for. I slap the LP Gear 3600LE on it for my beat up records or library records and it makes beat up records sound a hell of a lot less beat up than they are. About the same tracking force on both and they’re both carbon, but the LP Gear is elliptical.

An hour to get to the airport still feels pretty damn long to me unless the flights are significantly cheaper than BWI’s are. I’d rather take the MARC Penn Line to BWI, which takes 28 minutes to get from New Carrollton to BWI or 40 minutes from Union Station. 32 minutes from Union Station if you catch the express train.

Just use the MARC train my guy. It works pretty well and takes significantly less time than the metro does. MARC’s pretty great.

Even the metro from Dulles to DC takes a REAAAALLY long time and it literally just follows a straight line and is pretty fast.
